john st.clair??

ok i know that our line sucked bad last year, but st.clair was not that bad last year was he? we all know mckinney is the worst center to ever snap a football, so why dont we give st.clair a chance at center? was he not a center in college? he cant be worse that mckinney!

I think St.Clair was an All American center at UVA... why he isnt playing center now... i do not know but i thnk we should stick him in there.

St Clair isn't built correclty to be a succesfull centre in the pros, he is 6-5 an plays tall making it easy for interior lineman to stand him up and drive him back

I disagree. His height, in of itself, would not keep him from being a good center in the NFL. There may be other factors however that concern the coaches which have precluded moving him there. Some taller linemen have good flexibility and are able to get low and maintain leverage. If St.Clair does not have the flex to offset his height, it would prevent him from playing with good leverage where ever he lined up. When he played center at UVa, I thought he looked good in this regard, or as I recall anyway.
Remember, Jeff Dellenbach did a good job for us as a center for several seasons, and he is also 6'5" plus. IMO, Dellenbach was a much better center than Ruddy was.
