Johnathan Martin

The two negative things that I saw was he gets beat by inside moves sometimes and he crosses his feet sometimes on outside speed rushes. Both seem like technical issues that can be fixed. The one thing I like, I saw a little bit of a mean streak in him.

bingo dude... right on point here..

way too many people worry about too much **** they see on some youtube clip. he'll be a great football player for us, I actually have confidence that this staff can bring players along and develope them unlike the last regime.

I thought Kaddu made a bunch of nice plays in the posted highlight reel. Other times he was taken out of the play by the excellent line Stanford had. Both look like upgrades.

For me, the important thing is that he is clearly better than what we have on the roster and from what I've seen, he is better than the options that were there too. We needed to sure up the line and he was definitely a great value to do that where we got him.

think for the 2nd round price he was a great pick up

LOL...nobody said that dude....dont make sh*t up...

Several scouts/draftniks said that. Kiper doesnt include him in the elite Nfl tackles and I believe Casserly still doesn't think much of him and still calls him a RT.

Here's a thought... keep him on the left but move him inside to LG, move Incog over to RG and have Murtha at RT.

Either way... it's a win win, but I do think, watching his footwork, he sets well in pass pro. Only thing that would concern me a little, would be his power step to the inside... it's a little weak and he plays high with little hope rotation. But something that can be coached.

Like the pick. Will be a shame if Murtha looses out at RT, if he does, will be interesting to see if he is a solution inside at Guard.

I concur. Even the so-called experts are questioning using Martin as a tackle in the NFL. I don't understand why, if he is so bad, did he get rated so high in the draft. The write-up on him in the Huddle Report says do not draft him as a tackle. He will need help from a TE to block. The Huddle Report says he will make an outstanding LG however. I still think he was a great pick for the OL. Miami will find out soon enough in training camp whether he can play RT or not. If he can't, they have an important hole to fill.
