A big play receiver makes the offense better because a defense cant put 8 people in the box to stop the run, if the defense blitzes they can go up and make the big catch and they make it easier on the quarterback in the red zone. Chris Chambers is a really good wide receiver but he is not great. Chambers, however, would make a great number two receiver and Marty Booker, if the Dolphins keep him, will be the best third receiver in the game.

After todays college bowl games if Johnson or Jarrett is there with the ninth pick the Dolphins have to draft one of them. Both of these guys are game changers who can go after the ball in the air, get behind the defense and make the tough catch in traffic. Whoever the quarterback will be next year will love having one of these two guys to throw the ball to.

Imagine an offense with a three receiver set with Johnson/Jarrett, Chambers and Booker with McMichael at tightend and Ronnie Brown in the back field. This line up will help the offensive line right away and give the quarterback numerous weapons.

I pretty much agree with your entire post.

Just change it to.......

Ted Ginn, Jr. or Dwayne Jarrett, because Calvin Johnson will go top 5.

CJ wont last past 3 i would like either one-who ever is faster

Knowing that it would be between Ginn and Jarrett (Johnson being a Top 5 pick), I would personally take Jarrett. Great hands and great size.

how tall are they

Jarrett is 6'5 210lbs

Ginn is 6'0', 180lbs

I'd probably lean towards Jarrett's size and hands. No point having a fast guy who cant catch!

CJ will be lon gone by the time we pick but i wouldnt mind Tedd Ginn JR or Jarett or Steve smith!!

Especially when Ted Ginn Jr is related to Chris Chambers. :shakeno: We all know how great Chris Chambers hands are! /sarcasm

I'll take Dwayne Jarrett over Ted Ginn any day.

I'd take Ginn between him and Jarrett. His talent and amazing athleticism is just so rare that I think it would be foolish to pass him up. I would look for a big possession receiver in the later rounds.

ginn has a slight edge in talent but size does play a factor i would take jarrett and the only clear cut reason for that is that jarrett can be devloped into a great blocker on tosses and sweeps against undersized cb's or even if we ran out of a bunch trips set. We have a tru burner in chambers, give him a break next year youll all just be looking at him as a god again hes allowed to have an off year, it was so apparent he had no chemistry with any of our qb's.

and a little of my jarrett opposed to ginn is for that fact that jarrett graduated from new brunswick high which is where i grew up and only live 20 minutes away , he graduated my sophmore year

^^^^^^he made 1st team all state his jr and sophmore year, he was the whole team short screens he would jsut run through and past everyone.

I might lean towards jarrett over ginn if we were drafting specifically for WR only. However, if we did get ginn he could return punts and kicks as well. To me, welker just isn't cutting it in the return department. Why does he never look for the sideline. I returned kicks in HS as well, and I know sometimes you have set returns, ie. middle, but you just have to look for the seam and get to the sideline asap. ginn is super fast. calvin johnson won't be available.
I would look to shop booker for a 3rd or so, can we get a 2nd for him????
That would give us an extra pick and we could still fill the hole in the first.

johnson (jmarc if a miracle occurs)
ginn
jarrett

nice post

The consensus is Jarret, but he is in a MIke Williams build (tho faster). I don't konw, CJ would be my unquestionable choice, but like everyone has stated, he will be long gone. DJ made serious money yesterday, he went from a mid 1st rounder 15 to 20, to possibly top 10 (of course combines still to come).

Ginn probably has the most upside of all of them, because he has killer speed and good hands, but still is pretty raw at WR, but if he gets the right WR coach in the NFL, he is gonna be an amazing talent. But as of right now its:

CJ - by far
DJ - has the tools
TG - not far behind DJ, with better speed . . . shorter than u want tho.

I would probably pass out from excitement if we could land CJ. He is possibly the best WR prospect ever. I've never seen such a mix of size, speed, body control, hands, and route running ability. He honestly has the best traits of Randy Moss and Terrell Owens. Too bad he won't make it past Tampa.

That being said, I wouldn't touch Ginn with a high first, but Jarrett would look great in a fins uni.
