Johnson 'prepared' for long holdout

Can't blame him. 416 carries is going to destroy your body very quickly.

Yeah, he wants money and he'll probably get it. From somewhere.

I dunno if he's a top 3 running back in this league, but he'd be top 10, though I still feel that he's overrated somewhat. I don't know if K.C. will give him that money but that team is just inches away from self-destruction, yet they're also inches away from a super bowl.

I wouldn't pay him more than LT. I'd offer him a deal like Edge got from Arizona.

LJ is scheduled to make the same as jets guard Pete Kendell!!

LJ is KC's entire team. If he holds out or gets traded, KC will quickly become one of the worst teams in the AFC.
If I was KC I would give him a 4 year deal with the first two years guarnteed. This way he becomes a free agent after he is 30. If he breaks down after year 2, then you can release him. Maybe give him 6 mil in '07 and '08 plus a signing bonus of 10 million or something like that (he would get atleast 22 mil). Then have years 3 and on basically be fake years because they can cut him after year 2.

It's a catch 22 for KC. He is no doubt underpaid now. But, history is not kind for RB's with 400+ carries. LJ is their whole offense, but is just destined for a short career with Herm running him into the ground.

He's trying to cash in before he's exposed. He averaged one yard less per carry last season (compared to 05') after Roaf retired. Now Will Shields is gone and I'm sure his production will drop off even more. He's a good rb and deserves more money but not that much.
I can't see the Chiefs being able to trade him either, if he's expecting that kind of money. The Packers and Giants seem like good trade partners but I'm sure Carl Peterson will want whoever gets him to give up their first child.

The guy has back to back 1700+ yd seasons. He's shown he's one of the best. The Chiefs should have already done something to lock him up long term.

I hate the word holdout but I can't exactly blame him. KC uses him as their entire offense so I guess he should be paid more accordinly to that. He is really going to have problems in his later life if KC continues to use him the way they have.
