The Jets gave up their 1st Round Draft choice to the Raiders for TE Doug Jolley. Can anyone tell me if you consider Doug Jolley a more valuable commodity than Patrick Surtain? Lately, alot of players are being traded for more than a 2nd Round Draft Choice and yet Patrick Surtain is still a Dolphin.

jets traded a low 1st but also got a high second, its not like its just a first for jolley

If Miami had a second rounder to throw in, I'm not sure they'd have that much trouble getting a 1st round pick for him.

Basically they traded down 10 spots or so and got Jolley. If it wasn't a player, they probably would have gotten a 3rd or 4th round pick. Therefore, Jolley is basically the equivalent of a 3rd or 4th.

According to the draft pick value chart, Jolley was traded for the equivalent of the 72nd pick. His point value puts him between the 71st and 72nd pick, so he was traded in effect for a high third-round draft pick. Probably pretty close to fair market value, if not a little over.
