Q: The spread is being run in high schools and colleges, is it possible it could be a base offense in the NFL one day?

A: "No question. The hard part is, you have to isolate the option. That's why Tim Tebow is so interesting to me. He's like Brandon Jacobs playing quarterback. He's 250 pounds. He's the strongest human being who's ever played the position. Ever. He will kick the living [expletive] out of a defensive lineman. He'll fight anybody. He is rare. Tebow is the kind of guy who could revolutionize the game. He's the 'wildcat' who can throw. Most of the teams that have the wildcat back there, it's Ronnie Brown, it's Jerious Norwood, it's whoever you want to say it is. This guy here is 250 pounds of concrete cyanide, man. And he can throw. He throws well enough at any level to play quarterback."

Q: Most people are dismissing Tebow as a quarterback in the NFL.

A: "He can play quarterback in the NFL. When he was a high school senior, they played Armwood in the state championship game. I have tape. He has an 80-yard touchdown run that put them in the lead. When it flipped around, and Armwood had the ball, what position do you think Tebow was playing? He was playing nose guard — and he disrupted about 10 plays. This guy is totally different. He's got Rich Gannon, Drew Brees, that kind of makeup as a team guy. What he said after the Ole Miss game, I said, 'That's my favorite football player I've ever seen in my whole life.' I said, 'I want Florida to win every game that kid plays from now on.'"

yeah i heard/saw that recently... i don't remember where...

if tebow is fortunate enough to have little to no injuries in his professional career, he could be the nfl's most exciting player since mike vick, no doubt. But you watch him play and he's so reckless with his body, i understand he's so strong and built, but at some point some parts are going to fall off

Even if Gruden is a fellow UD alum; I've got a hard time taking what he says to heart after breaking up Tony Dungy's Super Bowl roster and the whirlwind of QBs that have played for him the past 3 or 4 years.

I think Gruden has a hard on. C'mon he's making him sound like he's going to be the best QB ever. What a joke. I can't wait for him to come out so people we'll see how he'll do nothing in the NFL.

Unless Tebow learns how to stop telegraphing his passes all the time, he'll never be a top flight quarterback in the NFL. Anyways, Gruden is a moron. I live near Tampa, I've seen first hand at how much of a wishy-washy idiot he is.

All it will take is a few hits by a 300+ pound lineman on top of him or a LB taking off his head when he tries to fight for an extra couple of yards. While he's bigger than most QB's, there's a huge difference in college and the Pros. I just don't see him lasting very long if he tries to run as much as he does now.

Gruden never coached Indy (where Dungy has a Super Bowl roster). If you remember correctly, Dungy NEVER coached Tampa to a Super Bowl.

ha ha ha john gruden has never seen a qb he doesn't like. he has a fetish for them.

the tebow bubble is going to burst almost as bad as the housing bubble once this kid tries that **** against full grown, professional men.

i cant believe all the love for this kid. i think he is grossly overhyped. i cant believe he was voted to florida's espn mt rushmore thing. what a joke. its WAY to early to even consider voting for him for something like that. history go overshadowed by a popularity contest.

That's pretty funny:chuckle: I love Tim, but that is a little bit of exaggeration.
