Fox's coverage of the situation has been excellent from what I'm watching. The Glazer interview was great. Strahan's perspective was great. They are doing a great job putting things into context. The moment I got truly sick of the media's coverage was when, I think it was Steve Young, who was lambasting Incognito as if he's never been around this sort of behavior and as if Incognito is an exception and not the norm. He went as far to say that the NFL is a GENTLEMAN'S SPORT... Are you ****ing kidding me? Not only is he ignoring context, but he's making Incognito's much quoted text look WORSE than it really is, as if it wasn't bad enough. Not too long ago Steve Smith called out Janoris Jenkins because of what Jenkins was saying about his wife. That stuff goes on every damn game. Gentleman's sport... give me a break.
If the coverage of the issue was like Fox's coverage this morning, this story would have died after 2 days and not become a national spectacle that's being paraded on every news outlet you can imagine. The initial coverage was a ****ing joke. And Martin's text back to Incognito 3 days after Martin left the team where he was back to being buddies with Incognito shows that. Martin sending back almost equally vulgar texts shows that. Incognito has handled this situation well. Is he someone I would like to be friends with? No. Am I going to support everything Incognito is about? No. Would I despise him if he indeed harassed some golf course worker if true? Absolutely. But with this situation he has done well. And with him being hung out to dry the way he has been by the media and making his name a HOUSEHOLD NAME synonymous with racism, bullying and many other deplorable characteristics, I'll say he's being going through some very undeserving bull****. Just because your a horrible person doesn't mean you deserve to be held out there for the nation to pile on.
