New PBP article states that the NFL investigation will consist of the following questions:
• Did coaches order that Martin be “toughened up?”
• Did the Dolphins have proper protocols in place for players to report issues of concern?
• Should the team’s coaches — especially those focused on the offensive line coaches — have known more about what was going on with its players?
• Should general manager Jeff Ireland and Philbin have done more for Martin once they learned he was distressed, and again once he left the team?
• Should the team’s director of player engagement, Kaleb Thornhill, been more involved, and did the team give him the power to act as a liaison between Martin and the club?
• Is it widespread and accepted for white players to use the n-word and direct it at black teammates?
Were Miami's rookies under more pressure than those in other locker rooms to pay for dinners and trips for veteran players?
So, Incog's texts will help, but not make this go away. It would have made a lot more sense if he released the texts a week ago, and not sure why he didn't, there must have been more going on behind the scenes than we know.
Main questions seem to be, 1) what are the coaches doing, and were they approached by martin, 2) The racial issue 3) The money issue. Martin has the upper hand here, because he doesn't have any racial texts toward Incognito, didn't pressure him for money, and he's the rookie, not incognito.
