Jon Martin - "I will kill your entire family"

I remember that from the morton downey jr show. I recently watched his bio and they discussed that case and it was a lie.

Yep Morton Downey was a real loudmouth. Sharpton said Brawley had been gang raped and it was a real circus. Later on she said she lied. I know Incognito isn't a Boy Scout but some stuff is totally false.

Does anyone even care at this point that multiple sources have apparently disputed the "Jeff Ireland said to just punch him" report that was leaked by Martin's agent and then amended like three times after the fact?

Yeah.

This **** reeks.

Why let the facts get in the way?

What is there to even say about that? Isn't that what Cogs Sr. said initially? This was coming from the agents and parents?

I was thinking maybe we should revisit Cogs Sr's original post, now that we know what we do, for some more perspective.

He was definitely ahead of the curve with the suspension news, mentioned Martin's agent (zuckerman?) by name ranting about all the crap he was manipulating and referring to Richie time and again as "innocent" if I recall it correctly. Also he went off on PHilbin and Ireland as snakes. Now in hindsight we know he was right before anyone about the suspension, correct about the name and likely the manipulations of Martin's agent and had good reason going off on Philbin and Ireland considering one or both of them assigned Richie the task of toughening up the soft boi and then cowardly scapegoating him .

Well if Mr Incog, in his emotional rant has been right about that, asserting this is a tempest in a teapot created by Martin and his agent, just maybe he's right when he asserted that Martin is a drug abuser, put a gun to his own head and has attempted 3X to commit suicide. If any of that is even half accurate, then as the old cliche goes: "consider the source." Did drugs, coupled with a carelessness about his own life conspire to warp his perception of reality? Did drugs make see things in extremes rather than in context? Did a suicidal mindset cause Martin's frantic parents to apply whatever pressures they can while not revealing his inner demons, for the purpose of extracting their vulnerable boy from a situation most sane, straight and normal football players can handle when what they've dished out is re-served back at them?

As far as the funny dog picture, if Martin initiated sending it as a joke, rather than maliciously, then it's hard to argue that he's the equivalent of Incognito's battered wife. If he did send it as a joke and Richie replied in a VM or text in kind in response (aka "after") to that, does that mean that Incog's intent was venomous or more likely that he either didn't have the access to the web when the mood struck him or he wasn't as proficient as Martin in searching google images for that "Hallmark moment.

That was the text JMart sent Cogs. Personally it cracked me up. Sent it to all my close friends, cracked them up to. I don't know why Caldwell thinks this image supports Martins stance.

Re: the texts from Martin to Inconito, a source tells me there were more along the lines of today's, plus lots of sexually explicit ones.

It fits. Pretty sure I would do the same thing if I'm in his parents shoes.

Yea I gotta be honest his calls have been right on, I just wonder why he was never drug tested at this point. He's had time to flush his system by now. Also sounds like Rivky Williams was right on...he was a drug addict who needed to leave football, except he was man enough to not try to find someone to blame.

Btw, I cant stand all of this "team Incognito" BS. Incognito is a huge part of the problem here.

Martin is the worst for airing all of our dirty laundry, making the team look foolish to the public, and potentially bringing down league punishment on us as well as bringing more PC BS rule changes to the league, softening it even more.

Ireland is a huge part of the problem for bringing these two losers to this team and creating all of the dirty laundry that is now being aired for the world to see.

I hate all 3 of them.

I disagree. We all know Incognito is a meathead but if the text message from Martin, the jokes he played on Samuda, etc are true then Incognito is not the one to blame here. If Martin does not run out of the field, air our dirty laundry we will not be discussing this. Ireland is not the problem. You draft/sign players without knowing what they might do. Incog for the most part has been quiet except for a few dirty plays here and there. Marshall got stabbed by his gf. Other players killed people.

Incognito is a huge part of the problem because he told Martin "drama queen" im going to make a train with your sister or something like that?
I think that is BS!!!
Grow up and be a MAN Martin, if not go and practice some figure skating or something.

I dont agree with everything u said in post but all three along with the coach are the problem. I personally dont get the mindset where its ok to say these things to each other and hell Im Infantry where some pretty bad stuff is said back and forth.
I dont get it in our context either. I think many men revel in meatheadom, yes a new word lol. You also have to blame the coach because he kept Incognito after the last incident and somehow trusted him to toughen up Martin.
For all those that want to call themself Team Incognito more power to you but it seems like a pretty lousey team to be on as would Team Martin

Do you punish them or report them?

Do you punish them or report them?

I dont tolerate anything racial and dont tolerate anything about running a train on a guy and s sister. Depending on what was said would be my reaction. Sometimes you have no choice. I think as a leader you have to show that crap like that is no tolerated, something that certainly is not happening in the dolphin locker room and probably many others. When it comes to racial stuff or stuff that could be construed as sexual harrassment you dont want to be that guy that did nothing. In some cases it would be punished and in some cases it would be reported. It all depends on the incident.
I just think if people show there is no tolerance for stuff of this nature then it will be at a minimal in your organization. Incognito said himself that its a product of the environment and it was accepted by everybody. Maybe Im just a different type of person I just see no value in dealing with people in this manner. I have played football all the way up to a semipro level and am in military so its not like the concept is so foreign to me of this type of stuff happening. I just dont respect this type of engaging and think nothing truly good comes out of it.
