Jonathan cooper

They way the Patriots maneuver their roster is brilliant man they don't mess around

Foot injury - I wonder what he cost of wavier claim for him is? Can the Phins claim him and place him of IR for next year?

I would still take Cooper and release Dallas Thomas. I would also sign a corner that can help the defense and release Jordan Lucas and put him on the practice squad if he cleared waivers.

Im with him

Lucas is a ways off and cooper injured or not id rather have for the future

Can't hurt to sign him I guess. Unless it's about cap hit

A reminder guys. Attack the post not the poster.

If he got healthy and played well at guard we could put Tunsil at tackle and still have a good guard next to him. That's the problem with our line, too many tackles. Tackles are good at pass blocking, your guards are your run blockers, and we don't have any starter caliber guards outside of a converted tackle that just happens to be elite talent.

won't lie, I loved this kid coming out when he was a rookie. The dangers of drafting a guard in round 1 I suppose.

Agree with taking Cooper and cutting Thomas. Cooper has a much higher upside talent wise when healthy. I was high on the guy a couple years ago and would love to see him on the squad.

If he and Tunsil can man down the left side next year then there is a lot of athleticism to do what we need to do.

Pretty sure you are inheriting that #7 pick rookie contract if you claim him...whatevers left of it

Still the rookie cap under this cba should deter no one unless hes got fully guaranteed moneys to consider

my guess is given our current state roster wise miami would put in the claim for the corner benwikere as the higher priority

I think everyone is forgetting one thing. While picking up Copper and cutting Thomas seems like the right thing to do, it is a move that requires intelligence and foresight. Mike Tannenbaum is severely deficient in both. This move will never happen.

There's not a ton of guys who Bellichick has given up on that worked out somewhere else. Now, the opposite is true all the time.

We all whiffed on Cooper. He seemed to have the total package at guard.
