Jonathan Martin Alleges Player Misconduct, Dolphins ask for NFL Review

So I guess all of the 'we're cool' texts with Incognito were just BS then.

Yes, just like the advice a divorce lawyer would give to a man with a cheating wife while he's working behind the scenes to protect himself and his finances until the divorce papers are served.

Unless this team draws together and fights together as one the rest of the season, the whole thing is going to fall apart. What a mess this has become. Just too many distractions.

hope Martin has invested his $ well or he plans to go back to school, because it is going to be a long time before anyone will give him a chance to play in the NFL again after this crap.

I suspect Martin wanted to quit football and this was planned to get a large settlement.

He was never going to amount to much anyway as player thus in this way he could benefit greater financially without any the effort/work/risk.

That's not his goal. His lawyers advised him of this fact before they decided to file the complaint. They already know he'll never play in the NFL again. It's all about the lawsuit and the money.

If the allegations are true, it sounds like his money was going into Incgonito's stomach or into his wallet ($15K for a Vegas trip he didn't plan to attend?)

I would destroy this **** once it went to mediation.

Might want to watch the Bucs hammering Seattle at home!

I hope the Bucs hold on and win. I don't want to play them at their most desperate. Let them get their one win against someone else so we can catch them when they just don't give a crap.

Ding ding ding. He is going to 'retire.'

That's the only way all of this makes sense to me. He wants to keep his money and get the team to agree not to go after him for his signing bonus in exchange for him dropping this whole mess.

Like I said earlier today, from his perspective it's the right move. The team closed ranks around Incognito, telling Martin his chance of returning to the team was about zero. The only way to redeem himself in the eyes of the public and perhaps another team is to expose Incognito as a jackass and a bully. If he can.
