Jonathan Martin hires David Cornwell as his representation

Time for Martin to get paid, he knows he will never play professional football again and its time to be compensated for it.....can't say I blame him, the dolphins handled this poorly, if they handled it right, Richie would be in uniform Monday and Martin would be getting treatment and getting his salary until he either quit or was cut....No lawyers, no national media, no new bully rules that are about to hit.....

Ireland will pay with his job and he will not get another GM job in this league........his career is over......

Once it's gone legal, it's the final nail in Martin's coffin - if there was any doubt whether his intention was to never play another day in the NFL , in a grab for the gold in a scorched earth campaign scapegoating Incog since he's a likely foil - this is it. **** that "sensitive boy"

For anyone who also believes in the fairness doctrine, for admittedly in this instance, a meathead who brings it on himself, but by all first hand accounts is a perfect teammate who has everyone's back, feel free when you post, to include one of the following graphics to declare your support for someone who's being railroaded and by inference your disgust for the railroader.

He shouldn't get a dime. Like someone else said....he's a grown ass man playing in the NFL. Stop acting like a 6 year old in the play ground crying to mommy because he got a wedgie.

Quite the insight...telling someone to stop acting like a six year old then mentioned he needs to stop crying to mommy...the irony...

The funny thing is that other than the offensive voicemail, it will be very difficult for Martin to prove negligence on his part.

It is clear that Martin's people have been steering the smeer campaign over the past few days. Unfortunately, because so much has already been leaked in the media, much of the evidence will have been tarnished.

Incognito will become the sacrificial lamb for the NFL. In doing so, the most hated man in the NFL will turn out to be it's martyr for the integrity of the league, and it's players.

This isn't so much more than the Dolphins. It just happens to be our players. In the end this will be Martin and every skinny whimp that attended band camp, against any jock who ever lived.

I liken it to the family that sued to get their little girl into Boy Scouts.

Martin and his family are suing the NFL for being the NFL, and not having it's players cater to the less capable men of this world.

I have a firm belief Martin will likely win something, but wouldn't be surprised if his life spirals even further down into despair. He will ultimately alienated from most people he's known. Some will feel sorry for his sad mental state. But there will be many, who will see him for what he really is.

If the only consequences we have to face is paying Martin and getting rid of Ireland, I'll take it. Unfortunately, I don't think it'll be that simple.

In addition, a source said the NFLPA has been advising players and agents not to hire Cornwell to handle legal matters, such as appeals of suspensions.

Yep, this is going nuclear.

Great addition to the thread with that link!

It's all about the Benjamin's!!!!!! He wasn't bullied nor ridiculed. After Cornwell does his thing with guidance from mommy n daddy, no team will want him .

My hope is that this gets settled, everyone moves on, and the incident becomes a distant memory.

Best solution....pay him the remainder of this season(2013), void the remainder of this contract (2014 on) and we forget this whole mess.

Not going to be enough, you terminate his contract and settle the law suite by paying him the balance of his rookie contract plus attorney fees....he might go after more money by saying he wants the money he would have earned if he had a 8-10 yr career, this is why he keeps stating he wants to come back to team..I'm sure that's what his lawyer will push for.....

Is it bad I want Martin to come back to the NFL for another team and want to heckle him for 3 hours at the stadium?

It was just reported that when Johnathan Martin checked himself in to what ever medical facility, his stay was short.

Martin must have used the drive-thru.:driveby:

I thought that was mentioned a couple of days ago or did he check into another one in Cali?
