jonathan martin interview. wow i love what i hear

Idk what tape you've been watching, but Martin moves people.

I wouldn't put too much into the bench presses. I think he'll get his work in training camp and be ready to start day one.

Listen to the phone call where Ireland and Philbin call Tannehill and drop the news that he's getting picked. I liked what both Ireland and Philbin had to say. Ross didn't really come off as a great football guy.

Loved the interview. He sounds intelligent and confident to go along with his athletic ability. I'm excited to see what he can do.

This kid sounds awesome! I love his confidence and the intelligence that he clearly has!! And I know it's crazy but Keith Sims looks like he could still get in there and play a little bit. We may very well have our best offensive line since the glory days of he and Richmond lining up next to each other and possibly be even better if Martin pans out!

I like him, sounds confident. He was First round talent...I saw someone post about the reps. I'm not to worried about it, going to Stanford he picked up a lot more books than he did weights. He is the first of 4 generations of family to go to Stanford...cuz the rest went to Harvard!!! Smart kid, We got him for his athleticism not his gruffness. The NFL is changing, we need this new breed of line.

Vernon has allot to prove and I kind of like that ...I like players with a chip ...

That is just insane and awesome! Intelligent leader with athleticism for zbs. He'll be able to put up 30 reps after a year in the weight room. Long-x-pouncey-x-Martin is a hell of a frame for an OL. Will we move Jerry to G?

Our offensive line will be: Long Scott (FA) Pouncey Incognito Martin unless we draft a guard with our next pick.

In my opinion this is one of the most solid drafts (on paper at least) that we have had in the last ten years. Every pick so far has a good ceiling and fits with the scheme we are going to be playing. Philbin said the days of mauler type o-linemen was over and so picked up Martin, who is seen as more of a finesse tackle. He is an instant upgrade at RT and immediately makes the o-line look like an NFL level one. Egnew can't block for s***, but he is a nice pass catching TE - which is what most of us have been calling for (although I do like Fasano). Although I do not know much about Vernon, by all accounts he is a very soild (if undersized) DE that could make the transition to OLB in a 3-4 if needed. All of our picks have filled a need and with a player that can start from day one, Tannehill notwithstanding. I am really liking what Ireland and Co. have managed to do with this draft.

They may not be your rooting cup of teas, but say what you will about Stanford and Duke athletics, they don't manufacture BS entry shortcuts for scholarship athletes. Any kids who get into those programs and stick around long enough to thrive academically, whether you like them or not, do so legitimately and are pretty damn intelligent. That's another reason Martin was a great selection; he likely would have despised trying to communicate with The Meathead.

I'm overjoyed with this pick of Martin. I did not expect him to be there but the draft is a crazy thing.

Some things I had a good idea about. The Colts draft two best TEs in the draft to go with Luck, I expected the 1st one and the 2nd one was a great pick. The Broncos take Brock Osweiler(the strongest arm in the draft) as Manning's future replacement.

But there were and are almost picks that come from no where and suddenly someone who is supposed to go a 20 is still there at 40.

J Martin is a wonderful pick for many reasons. We were dead last in the NFL last season at protecting the QB. We gave up more sacks and QB hits per pass attempt then any other team. How do we expect to move the ball on a regular basis in a situation like that?

Plus, someone has to say this. Jon Martin's contract is going to be a 1/4 of Jake Longs and he can play LT.

LOl I'm glad it wasn't me that first posted this

Love this pick as hopefully we are set on our offensive line for years with Long, Pouncey, and Martin. Not the sexy pick but I wasn't too excited about going into this season with Murtha as the starter
