Jones is unhappy with his contract

What's his contract look like now? I mean he balled out last season so I wouldn't mind extending him.

7 million this year - not a small sum for his position

If this is correct - http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/rankings/cap-hit/safety/ he is the 4th highest paid S in the NFl this year

Throw him an extra million the next two years and extend him 2 more years with the extra million added.

He's the 7th highest paid safety in the league averaging a little over $7 mil per year, though that's including a couple who just re-signed. Doesn't have much of a leg to stand on, though I guess I can't blame him for trying.

im anxious to read posts from the contingent of posters who would say... "let him walk, it's easy to look great when you're a polished turd in a ass full of dingleberries."

great player but he has 2 more full years on his deal, he isnt going anywhere

We gave him an extension early and as a result gave him less per year than he could have commanded on the open market. That's how getting an extension early works, Reshad.

He probably thinks he should be the highest paid safety in the league -- Reshad has always had an inflated opinion of himself going back to Georgia -- but if he thinks we're redoing his deal he's out of his ****ing mind. At the same time, I don't give a **** about voluntary minicamp, especially not for established veterans. If these guys sat around and watched the Police Academy movies for a couple days it would probably do them the same amount of good as voluntary minicamp.

Probably even more helpful. Those movies were hilarious.
