Jonnu Smith Trade?

Too bad we can't just add some incentives to his deal currently. Produce like last year or better and we'll give you 3mil extra or something. But if we do trade him, getting Washington would be nice. 6'7 265 is a monster at TE. We could really implement some brusing power run schemes with him and Brown, Ingold with Gordon or Wright.

For example: Two TE sets with Washington and Brown, Hill and Waddle on the outside, and Gordon in the backfield. What do prioritize as the defense to stop first? You cheat up to stop the run and we bomb it deep, and if you play the deep ball you give up 4-5yrds per carry. Not to mention Achane and Wright who could explode for 10-20yrd runs at any time.

Or Jumbo set of Washington, Brown with Ingold in the backfield and Hill/Waddle on the outside along with our backs. Things get pretty interesting.

We can but he likely wants 10+ million which isn’t even top 10 million and wants a multi year deal

Didn’t say that said it was part of the reason along with tweedle Dee and tweedle dum at guard but also limits and tells play call.

He is replaceable, NWI is just as serviceable as a receiver with a similar if not better pre Miami numbers. Malik Washington averaged 40 yards per game last 4 games when he got playing time. News flash playing behind hill/waddle with achane coming out the backfield tends to help out others if you have a competent run game.

Never said we were run first however having a respectable one is vital to having a solid passing game. You really need to look at our offense and understand it. Your lack of the very minimal understanding is showing. Not even our offense alone, every attack depends on on another or else you end up with stacked boxes or 2 deep all game

You are incorrect.

According to PFF he was the #5 ranked TE in the NFL. And it's hard to block when you're not being called to block.

Um… OK?

He asked what Jonnu’s stats were in regards to blocking. I showed him PFF’s grades. If he had asked about Jonnu’s receiving stats I would have given him that. Did you not understand the initial question? Did you reply to me by mistake because what you’ve written here has absolutely nothing to do with the topic. It would be like if someone asked why Joe Burrow isn’t considered as good a scrambler as Lamar Jackson and someone gave them his rushing stats and you countered with “wELL bUrrOW iS tHe 4th raNkED QB iN ThE LeaGUe!” 😂

And the reason Jonnu wasn’t asked to block much is because he’s not good at it. Just like the stats I posted shows.

That’s a big risk. He will be pushing 34 in 3 years. I’d definitely give him incentives to earn as much as $10m next year, but no extensions past that.
3 yrs at 10M is pretty acceptable when you have someone like Cole Kmet making 12M.

I'm actually OK with Jonnu leaving because the offense revolves around Tua but I can definitely see why he wants an increase. I doubt the Dolphins offense suffers a big blow if he's gone though

It’s not the amount, it’s the length. I’d give him $8-$10m next year. If he’s still playing well, add on another $8-$10m for the next. At 3 years he’s pushing 34. That’s ancient for a TE.

As long as it isn't all guaranteed; it isn't much of a risk.

Guarantee this year and next and have the third year be unguaranteed. Not much for a starter really.

If Ramsey does go to the Cowboys and they’re dealing Jonnu, what about a play to get Luke Schoonmaker? He’s been buried behind Ferguson and has looked good when Ferguson has been out. Schoonmaker also is a very solid blocking tight end.
