This means that the Dolphins gave him permission to do so.Is this not tampering? Speaking directly to a player under contract?
Teams do this when trading a player means that said player expects to sign a new contract with the subsequent team.

You know Grier will let him go for peanuts and the compensation will never favor the Fins. Grier is a proven loser in these situations so the outcome will be a loss of a viable TE for nothing in return.Keep him locked in the basement? Keep him for a 4 yr/$75m contract? Keep him for what?
Let’s not act like this is the Dolphins trying to get rid of him. He wants more money, which is his right and I don’t begrudge him that, but how much are we talking? He started this. Not the Dolphins.
That said, there are reports that they are considering more 11 due to their success running it last year. I think Crabbs and Ryder both covered this recently, and considered it an advantage worth exploiting more often.McDaniel is a 21 personnel guy…but it’s the same regarding TE.
No one gets much for a salary dump, especially when it is a disgruntled playerYou know Grier will let him go for peanuts and the compensation will never favor the Fins. Grier is a proven loser in these situations so the outcome will be a loss of a viable TE for nothing in return.
When it comes to Chris... anything to sabotage the franchise works for him

So, the Dolphins made some "meaningful" adjustments when the original game plan faltered.I’m of the opinion that their offense shifted to more 11 sets once the run game faltered - it was necessity more than planned.
They ran 21 a LOT more in ‘23, and their offense was considerably more potent and harder to scheme against. Again, my opinion, but I think we’ll see a reversion to 21 sets.

Isn't that what a well-coached team is supposed to do? - LOL
They were better in 2023, but to be fair, it’s very difficult to be #1/#2 every year. In 2024, they were still top 10 (with Tua). The Chiefs went from 1st to 15th from 2022 to 2023 and nothing was really different. In the last 5 seasons, the Ravens have gone from 7th to 17th to 19th to 4th to 3rd. The Vikings have gone from 8th to 22nd to 9th over the last 3 seasons. Cinci went from 7th to 16th to 6th.Of course.
Do you think the offense was better in 2023 or 2024?
Todd Monken is responsible for the last 2 great years for Ravens, so not a great team comparison with context...but your points are still logical and well thought out...They were better in 2023, but to be fair, it’s very difficult to be #1/#2 every year. He might be the most underpaid player in the NFL relative to production. Two seasons in a row of 10+ sacks from the DT position while "only" making $10M. Think I have an idea why he's not at OTA's.Anything up with seiler? He hasn’t been at otas. When is his contract up?
Darnell Washington would fit the bill of getting younger, cheaper and larger.Hopefully it is for a player. I'm not crazy about trading him for a day 3 draft pick.
Probably because they could actually run the ball in 2023.Todd Monken is responsible for the last 2 great years for Ravens, so not a great team comparison with context...but your points are still logical and well thought out...
however for Fins the '23 offense was night and day superior from the '24 offense.
