New. Jordan Cameron headed to IR; Dolphins and NFL career at risk

Well alot of us were wondering when... here it is.

The Miami Dolphins are placing Jordan Cameron on the injured reserve list Saturday -- a move that signals the tight end’s season is over, his time with the team has effectively ended, and casts serious doubt about Cameron’s NFL future.

Cameron has not played since suffering a concussion in the Sept. 25 game against Cleveland. It is the fourth concussion Cameron suffered in the past four years.

This one has been very serious because the player and the team agreed for the sake of his long term health stretching beyond football he should not return to the field unless and until he was 100 percent.

Biggest question is who's going to replace him on the roster?

I think (hope) Dion S. comes back next week and they just keep this group at the moment... they need the roster spots for others so.

Unless they can find a TE someplace they think is an upgrade but doubt it.

As a man, I wish him the best and hope he hangs em up for his own well being. As a player, I'm not sad to see him go.

From a football standpoint not a huge loss. He wasn't contributing anything this year.

That being said I think he should retire. At some point you have to put your long term health first and he has suffered far too many concussions to keep going.

We roll with what we have at this point, im happy with Gray as a starter going forward.

What about next year, though? Any interesting free agent TEs or even in the draft?? Fins will definitely be in the market.

EDIT: was looking through 2017 FA tight ends and it looks like slim pickens. Hopefully we can find someone in the middle of the draft.

Probably the smart decision given his past concussions, can't mess around with that ****. Hope he's OK.

With that being said, I'm happy with what we got for now. Do we have an elite receiving TE? No, but the guys we do have are serviceable. In fact, in the case of first year Dolphin Marquies Gray, we got a guy that has shown to be someone who can help our running game tremendously.

Also, this video of Ajayi's 62 yard TD run shows Gray (bottom right, blocking 23) nailing 220lb saftey Mike Mitchell at the point of attack, effectively taking him out of the play. He's the type of utility player that every team wants, and he's still young so we still have some growth to look forward to.

I' d like to see some Thomas Duarte at some point...

We need to draft a TE - just like we have needed to draft a LB...

Retire and enjoy the payday we gave you. I guess Sims is still hurt. I say throw Gray right in there. I want to see what hes made of

Does anyone remember the specific play when he ended up with this last concussion?

Sad for him. I wish him the best of luck in the rest of his life. It appears to be his last game.

Disappointing for the Dolphins. He wasn't successful here with a series of underperformances. This pre-season was abysmal, this season had glimpses and hope, but was ultimately unsuccessful. While he made it through the concussion question last year ... it ultimately caught up with him. Regardless of whether he plays another NFL game, it's time for the Dolphins to move on from him. Guys like the Michigan kid Butt might be good options in the 2nd round if they're available. They can contribute with run blocking and pass protection, are big enough in the red zone, and can be reliable outlets on 3rd down. He isn't really the seam threat we'd like, but there are no more Gronkowski's out there, so getting a seam threat generally gives up most of the other stuff, and this team needs to run the ball. This Gase offense requires a premier TE ... now it's time to go out and get one.

I hope for a complete recovery and a bright future to you Jordan Cameron.

Bro this will probably happen at the end of the year. Need to to stay classy with handling this. I wish him the best living his life after football.

People have to understand that this goes way beyond football. He is someone's child and he is also a father to someone. I wish him a quick recovery!!!!
