Unless Miami has the ball at the one yard line. He sucks, looks slow, and out of shape and for some reason he was given so much run in the 3rd qtr for momentum killing negative plays.

Don't see how two carries and one pass target equals a lot of run in the 3rd quarter. Not sure any of those three plays turn out any different if you handed the ball to one of the other backs in the same circumstances and conditions. For example all of Miami's backs would have been blown up on that pass play.. that didn't happen because of anything Howard did or didn't do.

I was also expecting a lot more from Jordan Howard. He's coming back from surgery but we've seen absolutely nothing to date and this is a 25 year old player who averaged 4.3 yards per carry in his 57 games (48 starts) combined for Chicago and Philadelphia where he ran for 3895 yards with 30 rushing TDs before coming to Miami (with just 14 yards in 18 attempts in the 4 games currently averaging 0.8 yards per carry with the 3 TDs).
Probably the biggest free agent acquisition disappointment on the team this year. Yes, Myles Gaskin has been one of the better pleasant surprise improvements and has earned a lot more opportunities but I agree with the other posters that Howard looks fat (232 lbs) and slow (he ran a 4.59 at his combine but I doubt that he could break 5 seconds from what we have seen this year).
Out of interest - I checked Spotrac - see below:
Jordan Howard signed a 2 year, $9,750,000 contract with the Miami Dolphins, including $4,750,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $4,875,000. In 2020, Howard will earn a base salary of $1,750,000 and a roster bonus of $3,000,000, while carrying a cap hit of $4,750,000 and a dead cap value of $4,750,000.
Jordan needs to show us something very very soon or the question becomes when do we simply flush the toilet? I am also reminded that Philadelphia Eagles GM Howie Roseman is consistently one of the best NFL talent evaluators and he made the conscious decision not to re-sign Jordan Howard.

This one is on GM Chris Grier.

Miami seems to strike out a lot in FA. They should take the Green Bay approach and just sign their own home grown talent and otherwise sit FA out.

He has a role, short yardage back and decoy for PA

he sucks we need a back bad, Gaskin stays as change of pace #2

It’s unreal how completely horrific he’s been. No one can honestly say they expected him to be this awful.

GB rebuilt their defense 2 seasons ago with FA. They signed Za’Darius Smith, Preston Smith and Adrian Amos in a ~$160M spending spree in 2019. The new regime is willing to spend money.

Um, you wanted us to re-sign Ballage???? We needed a RB, he’s not the best but had some success in this league so we signed him.

Lucky for us his contract is basically a 1 year try it deal.

He will be gone next year at little cost.

What I meant is don’t spend big in FA. And don’t re-sign bums like Ballage. But this is different from the topic of Jordan Howard

Like I said all offseason. We could have had Melvin Gordon for 3 million more per year!

They can cut him after the year with no cap hit. The contract was worth the risk. He does look awfully slow and without any explosiveness.

Looks very much like a one and done. I don’t think he’s done poorly but the ask is easy to find. To date.

Him and tua seem to be best buddies though so we will see
