Hey fin fans what do you think of passing on early qb's and looking to take Johnson. The guy is amazingly accurate and has great awarness and is FAST! Not to mention he doesn't shy from contact. I love this guy. Thoughts?

this belongs in the draft forum, but yeah I'd take him with a later pick, I'd go as high as 5th round for him. He is a very polished passer and like you said, good decision making.

Ummm the only speed I care about on a QB is his release and his footwork within the pocket.(avoiding rush etc... you know like Dan. Phonebooth quickness) How fast he runs isnt really a factor. Unless we were a high school, pee wee league, or college team.

Oh and you said he dosent shy from contact. If he were a FB that would be good. I personally dont want my QB wanting to take shots unless he has to get a critical first down on a 3rd or 4th down situation with the game on the line.

Plays for San Diego. He is 6'3 and weighs 218 approx. Last season had a 43 to 1 interception ratio.

Also regarding that. The few times I see him take the contact he was going for the td. He doesn't just lay down he pushes through to ger the extra yardage or the goal. I think with our running game and the OL we have. I feel this addition will open the field and give us a very diverse playbook. Imo

Did you see or hear how he was throwing at the combine...one word...lousy...now here's two words...wounded ducks.

Well the combine would not be the same situation to some players. Some excell at a game type situation. The combine does not show his decision making and give him the feel of adrenaline as such in a game.

He was pretty good in the senior bowl. He is only a developmental project that our team would take if they believed Beck may be o.k. If Bill and Ireland thought Beck was awful then we would take Ryan. The singing of McCown kind of points to them not taking Ryan at 1.

His stats were pretty amazing....I wonder who San Diego plays in football???

late take him, but i also think that JDB is great as a later pcik in the draft he is in a pro system, great coaching, and can quickly be nfl ready
