Do you know what would be nice? For everybody not to go ape s--- everytime some pundit from ESPN or SI dumps or trumps the fins. Too many people put too much stock on what a few talking heads think. Hey: Who Gives A F--! I'm not saying to dismiss all media or what it can offer, but what you have to realize is that not many of these guys are any more knowlegable on the game than the die-hard fan. They are no more capable of being more right or more wrong than the chump who watches every game every week. Some (but not all) just know how to put what they know into words. That's all. There's no special badge that should merit fans hanging off every word, positive or negative. Half of them are homers, the other half are mini-celebs as far removed from reality as the athletes they cover.

Do you really think Peter "Go Bledsoe" King knows anything about how talented, say, Randy McMike is? No way. Many are so close to their subjects (especially the columnists and pundits) that they have lost all objectivity or context-- (please see Lebartard). Also, while you and I spend Sunday watching 4 or 5 games a week, they watch bits of the home team, and spend the rest of the day writing. Whatever they get from the rest of the NFL is highlights from Prime Time. I used to be a newspaper journalist, and while I only dabbled in sports as a student, I did work at a big daily, and spent much of my time hanging around the sports Dept. I was simply amazed at how narrow a view supposed experts can have of their own "industry." I could go on, but I want to keep the snoring happy faces that will surely follow down to a minimum. Anyway, all I'm saying is chill with the amount of attention you give Lebartard, marvez, Jaws, whoever. They're just opinions, no more or less on the mark than what most people hear can post without a 15,000 J-school education.:sleep::sleep:

hear=here. Just cause I was a reporter doen't mean I was good at english. Thank you Spell Check for feeding my family...

If you listen to the media, you will surely think the sky is falling.

That's one of my advantages of living in Michigan... I don't get the local media bashing my team all day every day.

Unfortunatly it comes at the cost of being able to see all the games live...

the only experts are the people who watch this team week in and week out...

It's not like I believe one written word these so called experts write it's the damn unwarrented disrepect, how manny losing seasons does this team have in the last 35? what six? I think it is a shame these guy's take such little value in what they say and write. If you are going on television and say things that are being recorded or written down that can come back and haunt you then you should be a little leary about the words that come out of your mouth. I don't live and die by these guys but they are so far off base with this it's not even funny. I just pray tha there is a god in heaven an these jerks have to eat crow!

I like it, I'm for one am tired of hearing every year that Miami should be in the Superbowl, and around week 13, 14, etc Miami is a bust, Miami is that and this. Atleast this year if we go thru a late Decemeber swoon again, it won't be a surprise to anyone therfore we as fans won't hear "Miami falls in December again" or whatever duma**theme they will come up with for our team.

If I was player or a coach on the Dolphins I would post every negative comment all over the locker room, weight room to inspire every player. This team has been counted out since Ricky retire. I'm praying that we take this league by storm, so I can hear Sean "I wish was a QB" and Lebartard "The Lap dawg for Ricky Williams" and every other sports writer that wrote this team off, eat crow and choke on it on national tv.

You saw the Monday knight game, the packers destroyed Carolina Jake looked lost,Smith is gone with a broken leg but they are still considered an elite team.
Their OL has two starters from last year at center and left tackle the rest are all utility players, their D couldn't stop the run or the pass and they are ranked in the top 12.
I have to tell you we know the Fins too well that's why crap analysis from reporters gets you all pissed.
There is more realistic insightfull and relevant reviews of the Fins posted on this site than you can get from any other source.
You all read Dude's camp reports and some of the other contributors can you believe how well the depicted what the teams strengths and weakness were.
I only value what people that post here have to say well some people and Muck.
I'm in Toronto too so all you hear about is Buffalo their fans believe they'll win it all.

I think the people on this board who bring up those articles or predictions, for the most part, aren't necessarily believing what they're reading, they just want other people to see what the media is saying about our team. IMO they are just bringing it to the attention of other people.

Actually former players, and journalists who have spent their lives developing their crat, are far more qualified to give opinions than anyone on here.

The only guys i pay much attention to are the pre-game show guys. CBS, FOX, and especially ESPN Sunday Countdown. I've watched that show every football sunday for many years, and usually agree with them. It's always been funny when they make fun of other teams like the Cards or the Chargers, but now they're bashing my fins, and it's kinda disheartening. Because I know they're right, i just have a hard time excepting it.
