JP Losman to new league

As long as they don't tryto compete with the NFL they could maintain relevance being essentially a DLeauge for the NFL.

I would love to see a new league mantain sometype of importance over a period of time. Would open up all type of new dynamics for both College and NFL football.

Good point, but will it affect contracts and buyouts if players jump ship?

I'm no lawyer, but I think it would depend on how the contract is written and the rules of the leauge when it comes to contracts. It would be stupid of them to not give out clauses to player who get picked up by the NFL, for the very fact that if the NFL picks up one of your players, it makes you gain relevance just for the fact that you DO have NFL level talent in your game.

Who even really knew about arean leauge before Gadsden and Warner?

Apparently other notable UFL players include:

David Kircus
Adam Archuleta
Ken Dorsey
Brooks Bollinger
Tim Rattay

And David Boston has been to a couple of workouts for a couple of the UFL Teams

They should try and pickup some of the vets without teams at the moment like Harrison, Brooks, Horn, Holliday, etc.

What I think though will kill this league is that it will be running the same time as the NFL.

Maybe even push the NFL to shorten their long break between seasons. I can't stand these long breaks, I am about to go nuts. Can we start already? I don't know what to expect. If it is the same product as the NFL, they will get some attention unless it is during the same time slot as the NFL season (Like Goon Said). NFL Off season, it might produce a product like the NFL Europe but we all know how that story ends. If the NFL produced a product that was during the off season that allowed the backups and the practice squad to compete(as in play for their own teams{Lions, Dolphins, etc}) that might go a long way in the eyes of the NFL fans.

So it will be like the NFL's version of the PGA Senior circuit?

I hate to keep repeating as a poster in my own thread, but I found this on the UFL website.
"The UFL will play in the fall, during traditional football season, to establish the league as a viable entity and will offer real, 11-on-11, outdoor professional football in NFL quality stadiums/venues. The UFL will play its regular season games on Thursday and Friday evenings in the fall, with the first regular season game kicking off in October and the Championship Game scheduled for Thanksgiving weekend."

Im glad Losman is playin in the UFL. It needs some legitimate NFL players to give it a dose of credibility. It has a great lineup of coaches and seems to have a solid business plan. This is great for the NFL. A league that can actually develop players for the NFL.
