I've got a theory:

Tuna wanted to sign pace to replace JT. Then, he'd send JT to Green Bay (or anywhere else). Once he realized that Pace was gonna sign with the stinking jets, he proclaimed that JT was going to remain a Dolphin.

As a bit of a smokescreen, he attacked Jason Cole's credibility as a journalist. Let's hope the Tuna's ruthlessness will get us some wins.

I don't think they were related at all. I don't think Parcells ever any intention on moving Taylor, I'm sure other teams want him however. The rumor that Taylor was on the block probably started as the Packers and Vikings wanting to get Taylor.

As far as Pace, I have a hard time believe Parcells thought Pace could fill JTs shoes. I mean we're talking about a 12 sack per year guy on avg in JT and a one year wonder whose highest sack total is 6.5

Well Bill and Jason Cole were both on sporting news radio today, and they both said the same thing they have been saying for the past few days.

What i came away with is Jason Cole is talking for JT, and Jason Cole says JT doesn't want to play for miami anymore. He wants to play for a good team.He also went on to say JT was asking last year for a trade, but Cam and the nfl wouldn't let it happen.

Cole also said if they don't trade Him, he might come back and if he does he'll be a pro about it.

ya thats b/c they put that HUGE stupid STATUE in england for the game. they said if he were to be traded it would make teh NFL and the teams look bad b/c it sour first game there n the main guy is not on the team nemore. its all about money ppl u think they acre for the game? its the MONEY. if they got paid 40k's a year thye wouldnt be there cuz its not enough to live now a days. when u get 4 MILLION its a diff story.

Maybe...........or maybe not.

We'll never really know for sure....

If Pace WAS signed, where was he going to play? JT is at one outside spot, Porter is on the other side, and none of them were going to be moved inside. So either JT or Porter would have been gone, and because of Porter's contract and with the cap hit we would take from getting rid of him this year, it simply wouldn't be a cap smart move. JT, on the other hand, has value and it has been said that he does want to go to a competitor. It would be in Miami's best interest, as long as there is a replacement, to move Taylor in exchange for valuable draft picks which will help build this team to become a competitor when JT will likely either be out of the league or very close to it.

I can't imagine a situation where JT, Pace and Porter would co-exist on the same team. Even with Pace signing with the Jets, I still don't believe JT is entrenched as a Miami Dolphin in 2008. If Chris Long is going to be the #1 pick, JT could still wind up playing for someone else.
