But wasn't KC the first team, back when most NFL teams were unsure about the show and they did Cincinnati after Cinci had a winning season and were supposed to be SB contenders.

It's TV and the #1 priority is ratings. Popular teams draw viewers, HBO want's the most popular team possible.

The 1st team qwas Baltimore in 2001, Dallas did it in 2002. HBO stopped airing it until 2007 I believe(I think they had a year or on NFL Network but it wasn't as good) when they went w/ KC, in '08 dallas, '09 Cincy(Cincy was good in '09 not the year before).
