"Kid showed what he got," said Dolphins outside linebacker and active NFL sacks leader Jason Taylor. "He does things. I have been around a long time [and he] does things that amaze me.

"It is those young, fresh legs, good cartilage in his knees, all that good stuff. Me and Joey will always joke, watching tape. You'll see Cameron dip underneath somebody, kind of get pushed around. He will spin around and pop off the ground. We always look at each other and say ‘That is those good knees, the good cartilage.’

"He does things that Joey and I can't do right now. I think we have a few things he can't do either."

Already posted by Greyboy - Bama but I'll bite - Look the guy is pedestrian at best, 3 sacks he should have had 5 vs. that walking stiff of 4th string LT... Wake, didn't he play in the God awful CFL of all places he was so horrible that he had to change his name Cam - Derek and recreate himself - just call him DAM - for Pete's sake (not fishypete) not a personal attack..., that is..., oh yah Dam Wake's pedestrian but J. Allen or Allan puts up 4.5 sacks on a likewise pedestrian LT not named Clifton and "Jared is the man"...

Oh I know Jared does this all the time beating up on so-so LTs - so what's my point...?

They aren't CFL LTs and Wake put up a 3 spot...

Wake hasn't proved much by last weeks standards but really neither did Jared Allan

People pick and "choose their filters" their rose colured glasses...

J. Taylor knows what he is talking about so do the coaches - beware those who tote the Doctorates of Football knowledge around here... the guys who come out and grade our first day of drafting this past spring with average scores - stirring up the masses for no reason...

The team is built on spare parts - it doesn't matter the league or the division

What happened to all the Wake sceptics?
Lord, I remember so many forum battles with people who said he would never make it because he came from the CFL

:thanks: One can only guess what happened...? They still want to keep their doctorates of Football Knowledge hanging in their garage...

With 3 sacks I think Wake is already halfway their when it comes to living up to the "realistic" fans expectations. I saw 4-6 sacks posted by quite a few guys with what they considered realistic expectations for him.

I said he'd get closer to 10 sacks this year

If he gets the proper amount of snaps, he is just too fast and has too much talent/ability as a pass rusher not to.

I am not ready to crown him the next sack king of the NFL, but he did play well against the bills. He did a bunch more beyond the 3 sacks he was credited for. He personally blew up the pocket a bunch more times in the game and also broke away from a block on one run play where he ended up making the tackle on Lynch where I truly thought he was about to break one.

It was a good foundation game to build from. Now lets see how he does as the level of competition improves. If he continue his play against the bettter OT's in the leaugue this year then we just might have found a gem.

Agreed, his quickness is really awesome to watch. My question is why the **** was inactive for so long?

I beleive Sprano was trying to figure out what areas early on he needed to keep extra help in, RB? WR? Lb? etc...

I think it has more to do with his ability to stop the run as opposed to just a pass rusher...hence why he was only active for nickle and dime packages as a pass rusher....this is what a lot of teams do with rookies that they convert from DE to OLB....

I predicted 8 sacks somewhere and 7.5 in another post (figured I'd hedge my bet :^p).

Put him in with Porter and Taylor on 3rd and Long, and the opposing offense will have some interesting protection decisions.

I wouldn't be shocked to see Wake surpass 10 sacks.

Sorry but I don't wanna hear a peep from any Dolphin defensive player till they prove they can play week after week with out peeing all over their shoes and making the Fins look pathetic.

don't sweat this stuff

FH is so impatient, I can see what could happen

Wake has a very good game against the Jets, 1 or 2 sacks, very disruptive

then teams start sliding protections toward him, he is still helping the team without the great stats.

his production goes down, the haters start crowing

instant gratification fans start crying

fast forward to 2010, Wake has more moves and better hand fighting skills and he can't be stopped(he becomes a young Freeney). the haters are now lovers
