I know what your thinking, and NO JT isn't playing TE. But I think JT is playing a huge role in the development of Carey as a LT, and that development will help us out more than JT at TE ever would. Seeing Carey go up against arguably the top DE in the league has to bode well for his future. I'm sure JT is teaching Carey just as much as Houck is. Carey now gets firsthand knowledge of what moves a top DE has and what he can expect from the likes of the better DEs in the league. And it is refreshing and exciting that he is in fact holding his own! It would be silly to ever trade JT because his benefit goes way beyond being an exceptional key to the D.

i was actually waiting to see this post......my feelings are the same, anytime you have a probowler on one side of the ball they generally make the player on the other side better

JT did say in an interview that it was part of his "job" to help Carey...good for him :D

very nice point, i think you hit it prety much, he has a complete effect on our whole team, thats why hes a leader on this team

Good point, but the kids confidence level has to be taking a hit going against JT everyday in practice.

never thought of that you bring up a good point hes going up against the best in practice every day should help come game time good post

Carey is getting a good education in how to handle edge DEs.I wonder how he will do against the bull rushers.

Yea it may be tough for Carey, but knowing that 95% of the other ends in the league are going to be a lot easier than what he goes up against in practice everyday has to inspire confidence. And from what I've heard Carey is holding his own against JT, so his confidence should be growing by the day.

probably pretty well since strength and not speed is his fortay.

It's great to see that, and Vernon has not shown signs of "bust." Now Wade Smith played and practice against JT also for almost 2 years, we all know how that turned out, so it tells you something on Vernon's talent and skills...

yep, they have always said his bread and butter is locking up on someone and barrying them. It's the speed guys like JT he has trouble with.

i know this is premature but if carey becomes an all-pro left tackle will it be worth the forth rounder we gave up. maybe someone was moving up to try and take carey. i can't wait to here the words miami offensive line and good together in the same sentence.
