Judge says Culpepper, Williams received unfair treatment

It looks like the charges will be dropped against Daunte.

However, the judge has given the prosecuter until Monday to come up with something solid to take it to trial on April 17th. At this point it looks like he will dismiss the case.

Can somebody actually link me to a story that justifies the misleading title of this thread? The judge said no such thing from the articles I have read.

Well, the linked story does. Not sure what you're asking for.

Read the article in the very first post of this thread. It mentions it in the first paragraph and even has quotes from the Judge about it.

No. The linked story says that the judge indicated they made a case that the treatment was unfair. That is not the same thing as the judge ruling that the treatment was unfair. It sounds like they made what I know of as a "motion to strike" but may be more familiar as a "motion for summary judgment". The judge seems to have heard their argument and decided not to dismiss their motion before hearing from the prosecutor to see what his argument on the motion is. I don't have the best of reports here because there only seem to be about two versions of the story circulating, but that's what "made a case" means to me.

The title of the article comes straight from Sportsline. I'm just passing along an article.

Well, at any rate, it's hard to blame the poster of the thread since he just used CBS's headline.

As to the specifics, the judge did say "I'm quite convinced those two (the white guys) could have been charged.

I think the legal distinction is that the defense made its case, met its burden, the judge made up his mind and the prosecuter now has a few days to change it.
