Since Seau is old and often injured, we really need a younger OLB who can play in Saban's scheme. Peterson fits the bill, and played for Saban at Michigan State. SF has had problems signing him the past two years, he has been given consecutive one-year tenders. He could walk at the end of this season. Do you see this happening? Imagine Taylor at RDE and Peterson at SLB!

(This wasn't my idea but I have thought about it after others have brought it up).

well....Seau when he's healthy is still not a BAD LB. He can be very serviceable. However isn't Julian Peterson a LOLB? Thus if Seau doesn't retire and can stay healthy we could have him, Thomas, Peterson and Crowder as the 4 LB's with our very good d-line and hopefully and improved secondary.

Our linebackers could be Thomas, Crowder, Peterson and Taylor in the 3-4, that could be the best linebacking core in the NFL! I'd love Peterson

Yeah! Imagine Ngata as our NT!

I think given Peterson's connection with Saban at MSU, his amazing talent and our salary cap position-Peterson will be a top priority for us next year.

If he doesn't get tagged, we should be the front runners.

I think it would be a safe bet if signed, Peterson wouldn't be limited to one pos. in our D.
BTW Seau is probably done.

WOW that sig. is BIG.

how about this...AJ/Ryans/Brooks/Greenway, Crowder, Thomas then Peterson. now that would be deadly! but i see Roth if nethign becoming a LB for some reason but i was reading up on past mocks from website and roth was perjected as a mid 1st many times so i wonder if he is just adjusting to the NFL right now or what the beef is iwht him. neways, i see peterson here and would love Ngata prob or that wright from Tex. here as well.

I'm actually looking at a SF fan website, and the consensus is Peterson is really a 4-3 LB and doesn't fit their 3-4. It seems like a lot of people wouldn't be sad if he left!

i could definetly see peterson...he played for saban at msu...i know i can be a homer for old msu guys but saban, unlike coaches like spurrier, turned college players into complete nfl players...i could definetly see peterson on the opposite wing from taylor...i think thats what saban wants the most...

if sf draft AJ HAWK then we should go after peterson
I think we should go after Peterson early in free agency so we know what we have before we draft.

i dont think drafting a LB is out of the question even if they get peterson.

I agree, but very unlikely in the first few rounds.
