There has been a lot of talk about Julian Peterson to the Dolphins in the off-season. I know he is from Michigan State and was wondering, did Saban recruit him there (or was he recruited when Saban was there)? Alright, thanks!

Not sure... but I am almost positive that Saban coached Peterson at M State...

Nasty

3-4?

Peterson
Thomas
Crowder
Arrington

I think this is definately a pipe dream...

Peterson would be worth the money (very flexible player that undrstands schemes). Arrington doesn't have the discipline needed for Saban's schemes and would have the same problems in Miami as he does in DC.

this is great, we can definitely afford Peterson with the estimated 16 million dollars of cap room we should have next year and I don't feel we need to spend money to help our secoundary as we will have Will Poole and S.Mitchell back from the DL. Then we can also get a good QB and with the players from the draft we should be an awesome team

Peterson will get tagged. He will not be available.

That is not a given. A guy worth that much in a cap hit in a franchise that much in the hole, needs better players across the board. Plus, players don't like getting tagged that much, especially a guy with injuries. They want guaranteed money and longer deal, which personally, I think is stupid. I'd take the highest paid at a position every year!

Not sure of SF cap, but they look headed for another top 5 pick and that means another big $$ contract to go with Smith's.

Peterson may sign a big deal before being franchised...but is this the second year in a row that he has played on the franchise tag? The franchise tag guarantees you at least 120% of the salary of your previous year, so that would seem to be awfully steep...looking at the NFLPA site it looks like to franchise him they would have to pay him at least $6.35 million next year. He's going through a few health issues this season on top of missing all of last season so I am not sure they will want to do that. They may try and sign him to an extension, but if he does not play ball with them for whatever reason, I could def see him in Miami for a contract about the same as Kevin Carter's.

It will get extra interesting if they get rid of the franchise tag

I hope they do. They don't need the franchise tag anymore. It has outlived its usefulness.
