July 31 camp blog

I think it's time to try and school ourselves out of getting caught up in the Beck hype at this point. So far he's only looked good in rookie camp against rookie UDFAs and now going up against 3rd stringers.

He's a rookie. Let him look good against 1st and 2nd stringers before we start proclaiming anything.

Beck looking good and feeling confident. No likey. Question to anyone who's been to TC: Any chance Beck could win the starting spot before the season starts? I haven't read to much on the guy but from what I have read it seems like he's doing well considering it's his first camp.

The chance is always there that he could win the job but I don't think Cameron will really give him the chance. Cam seems to think that a QB learns while riding the pine (a la Philip Rivers) so I guess that's what he'll do.

I definitely want him starting in 2009 though. Depending on how Green plays this year, maybe even have him start next year.

You cant say that is Cam's mo. Rivers held out and Brees impressed, so you definately do not play a young Qb over a probowl starter. If Brees had not played well who knows what Cam would have done.

No. See CK's post above. He will sit all or most of this year, and will probably be the emergency qb for most games. I suspect he will get his chance next season. Sadly, this season will be mostly a rebuilding year, getting the offensive line in shape, getting Ginn ready to play WR, and getting Beck some seasoning. Next year is the year to get excited about. This is the year to hope we can sneak into the playoffs.

I'd be surprised if Beck didn't take over next year. The only way I could see that not happening is if the Phins 07' campaign is a major success. Green in 08' would worry me as a Phin fan, especially if the Phins post a losing record this season.

Well ck, at least we can proclaim he looks good in rookie camp an dagainst 3rd stringers, and minicamps. Now if he looked bad already, then we have a problem! (won't mention certain rookie QB's name)

It's great to hear positive news on the Dolphins QB position. Hoping for more of the same as the preseason progresses.

Opinions-

Love em by all the various site experts. I especially recall that the year the Dolphins won their first SuperBowl, at the start of that year they weren't expected to be all that good.
But they played hard, found their chemistry and were coached well.

Many of their wins were close but they had the determination and intestinal fortitude to play all 60 minutes without ever giving up!

Maybe getting rid of some of the 'super-star' babies will do the same for these guys!

This team seems to me to now have the same winning attitude.

Oh, your still mad because you and and the so called experts on this board were wrong about us taking Quinn. All the negatives about QUinn weren't his fault (his teams fault ), and now someone says something positive about Beck and now all of a sudden you evaluate a qb justly. Too funny !
