I was wondering if today still had significances when it came to teams cutting down their rosters? I am sorry if you have answered this before.

The answer is not really. You may see a couple of cuts today/tomorrow, but it won't be a big wave of cuts that has occured previously. The new CBA has allowed teams to cut players early and designate them as post June 1 cuts. Most of these players have alteady been cut (ex. Keyshawn Johnson).

Don't the Cheifs owe T.Green $7 mil roster bonus today?

I think i read somewhere yesterday that the money they owe Greene doesnt have to be paid until the last mini camp are maybe the first game.Im not sure , but it was something to that fact.

This was mentioned in an article in the Sun-Sentinel in the last day or two also.

The $7 million is guaranteed once KC submits their 53 man roster which is anytime from now until 1 week before the start of the regular season.

Meaning don't look for KC to release Green any time soon.

the June 1st cut is important because if you cut a player you can spread the cap hit (acceleration) over 2 years as opposed to one. This allows teams to unload high priced verterans they overpaid, and then spread the cost over 2 years so they can reamin competative...

BUT...it's not so important now. Teams can pick 2 players a year that they can cut as June 1st cuts whenever they want, and most contracts now have roster bonuses in march and apri.
