First of all, for as much heart as Lucas has, he is about that short in intelligence. I think he plays with too much emotion and I'm sorry, but he doesn't have the ability to out think an NFL defense. Whether he is staring down his receivers or just simply making the wrong reads there are too many balls being thrown right to the other team.

It's sad really, I wish he could have done better, and I can remember somebody on these boards, when Jay first went down, saying, "Silly fin fans, worried that you might go undefeated with your backup QB, and have a QB controversy."........I guess we were pretty silly huh?

Any way, that being the case, There is no way in the world that Wanny is going to start anybody but Lucas, next week. I think it would signal desperation on our part, and while that may be true internally, if we were to show it externally, other teams would smell blood, and we would be like a box of donuts trying to fight off a police force.

The defense played good enough to win, they had lapses and ill timed penalties but they played their asses off for most of the game. JT was said to have told Lucas, "Get us 13 points and we'll take care of the rest." and they played like they meant it. Take away that fumble on our own 6 and we might have come out with a win on the strength of our defense. I can't complain about their effort.

I wish this team could find someway to relax......I think they are pressing and it may have alot to do with OUR expectations of them and theirs of themselves. Let's face it, a three game losing streak has Miami fans calling for everybodies' head, from Wannstedt on down to the ball boy. How ridiculous is it, that we are tied for first place in our division but no one is happy? Jesus, I'd hate to have to play flawlessy every week just so my fans will respect me. It must be a huge mental burden to know that if you don't go to the SuperBowl, then people are going to think you suck. I wish we could be as happy as Bills' fans are just for the simple fact that we have a SHOT at it all....just like everybody else. Why do we expect our team to win every single game no matter what the circumstances? Why are they Gods if they win and sh*t if they lose? They still played hard last night and win or lose they deserve our respect for the effort that they put in. they plaed the best game so far out of the three losses and I'm at least glad about that.

Oh, and one more thing to be happy about, maybe i just have never noticed but I did last night.........Did you guys see the sparkles in the white of our helmets? It was like metallic white. It was pretty.;) :goof:

Lose four straight Super Bowls, endure Wade Phillips and his bumbling assistants for 4 years, have to put up with two crying QB's for two years, then top it all off with a 3-13 season.

Then maybe, just maybe, you guys might get our perspective. :)

Good stuff man.

Thanks, Cap and Ducken, you guys know I can be as negative and critical as anybody but the flood of negativity expressed by the fans made me think that if the Dolphins are feeling half the frustration that the fans are, it can't be a good thing. Most likely they are feeling twice as much and as a result they are playing out of control. It seems like every play both offense or defense is either feast or famine. There's no in between.
The last two years, the super bowl champions were in disarray at this point of their season and they turned it around, that's the good part. The bad part is that both of those teams had the "luxury" of being able to win 3 or 4 games in a row before anybody took notice, and by that time they had confidence and were on a roll. The Dolphins can't win two games in a row without people talking Super Bowl. We can't sneak under any radar and worse yet, other teams have no trouble getting jacked up to play the Dolphins. A combination of reputation and expectations makes a potent ****tail and other teams get drunk with motivation. They have to match that intensity week in and week out, being judged heroes one week and dogs the next all on the bounce of a ball. They have to find some way to relax and get some confidence, I think they may have gotten a little out of the Jets game, I mean for all the bitching and moaning, it WAS a damn good game, in doubt until the last minute, all the ball had to do was bounce the other way one time and the jets board would be sounding like ours.

Let me be the first to gaurantee a victory next Sunday against Baltimore.

Nice post Infisible. I agree 100%. Times are tough right now for Phin fans, but that is part of the game. Highs and lows. Injuries. Tough road games. We will bounce back, hopefully it will be sooner rather than later.

I actually feel pretty good about our next game. I think we will win. I know it sounds crazy, but Lucas has improved enough that I think he will finally settle down a bit in the pocket. We are playing at home so that helps too. I believe the coaches have found a few plays that work for Lucas and if he can move the chains that could inspire our lethargic defense. Nice post!

:) :D :)
