R.I.P. Max
Just a few years back we we're winning games left and right. Winning four games in a row was really nothing for the Dolphins. I remember one year, (think it was 2001), we we're one of the most consistant teams in the league. We had gone to the post season five years in a row and led the league in that. Not just playing on Sundays, but winning on Sundays and playing the max of three primetime games year in and year out.
Little did we know that our beloved team was falling apart at the seams. Poor drafting, overpaying for free-agents and whatnot. Seems like yesterday that Lamar Smith ran for 200 yards against the Colts in the Wildcard game in Miami with the endzones painted navy blue. It's really hard to picture that we've missed the playoffs four years in a row.
Now that we've won four in a row, we're all excited about the future again. Now what does that mean? I haven't got a clue, but I do know that we have someting like 20+ free agents and the turnover on the roster may be large again. I believe in Nick Saban and I believe in the future. I think it took two years for him to get rid of the dead wood and get the cap back in shape.
Year three I believe brings again a huge roster turnover, but his type of players, and another draft class. Winning four games in a row will be nothing new.
I don't really know the purpose of this thread, but was just taking a short trip down memory lane back to the playoffs.
BTW, it was Vanderjagt's missed FG gave us the shot at winning that game.
