I am very disappointed in the coverage ESPN has given the draft this year. Their draft "specials" focus almost as much on ther sports as it does on football. Also, every day they talk about the same thing; Russell or Quinn, Will the Dolphins get Green. I was shocked that yesterday they talked about Gaines Adams.

Last year, they actually did a huge mock draft with the entire football staff. Maybe they'll do that Thursday, but I'm underwhelmed by how they're presenting the draft this year.

Also, I hope ESPN uses Todd McShay,Michael Smith, Eric Allen, and Floyd Reese during draft day more than they used the clowns they have in the past. It's obvious that Merril Hodge and John Salisbury have no idea what they're talkinga bout (neither did Irvin unless they were frum "Da U", even then he sucked). The guys they've been using so far, while not great, atleast know how to talk about the prospects. That's why I'm convinced ESPN hired McShay; so Kiper had someone who could actually give another view of the prospects (McShay has gotten better, but his board was horrible around the Senior Bowl).

Now if ESPN can lure Mayock away from the NFLN, I'll be happy.

Speaking of NFLN, Jaimie Dukes has a... different mock.

it sucked last year too. all they did was talk about young, bush, and leinart.

It was actually pretty good. Those three got the most attention, but they hyped up Brick, Williams, Mangold,Bunkley, Ngata. They actually talked about the draft.

If it's any consolation I think Irvin is no longer with espn...

that is a small consolation. I forget who it was, but it was a Miami player, and the converation went something like this...

Irvin-How did he fall this far? This kid went to Da U!

Kiper-He wasn't the best player at his position.

Irvin-But he went to Da U!

He was probably being cute, but when you don't know anything about the draft, you better have good jokes.

I also hated Salisbury during the ESPN Mock Draft...

Kiper-Why would you take Ashton Youboty, a 2nd rounder at best, over Jonathan Joseph?

Salisbury-What school did Joseph go to?

Kiper-South Carolina.

Salisbury-And where did Youboty go?

Kiper-Ohio State...

Salisbury-So you're telling me you'd rather draft someone from South Carolina over Ohio State?

brilliant reasoning Sean...

i like the rant,,i have literally seen and heard the so called experts on espn say we are going to draft, brady quinn, amobi okoye, levi brown, tedd ginn, adam carriker,,,,they don't know diddly squat compared to our own experts on this site,,,its quite laughable knowing they get paid for having zero talent.
