Completely hypothetical question here:
With the way the 2008 first round played out, as well as the rest of the draft, what are the chances that the Phins would have taken Kenny Phillips at 32, if the G-Men hadn't taken him at 31?
I was thinking about it the other day. We must have targeted Kendell Langford, if we took him at the top of the 3rd. And I doubt we feared he would have been gone by then. IMO, the only reason we selected Merling was because he was the overwhelming BPA. He had no business still being on the board and we jumped on him.
Now, Phillips also would have held great value at that spot and with our safety position the way it was, with Bell the only starter that is above average, would Phillips have been the pick instead of Big Phil?
