just a reminder that were not always right

I was going through some of my old post and ran across this one shortly after Philbin was hired where I suggested that Marshall could be traded or released. Just a reminder that as much as many people here like to play fantasy GM, were not always right as most everybody said no way in the world we would get rid of him. http://www.finheaven.com/forums/sho...t=does+brandon+marshall+fit+west+coast+system

So you want a Scooby snack for your "brilliance"? Self praise is no recommendation young Jedi.

Yeah this thread seems a little "look at me" but I understand why he did it.

When you say something that has a legitimate point and everyone jumps on you to tell you how wrong/dumb you are... you kind of feel like rubbing it in their face later to show that you were right.

Carry on, OP.

I don't think the point was about trading Brandon Marshall. It was about trading Marshall because he doesn't fit in a WCO which was pretty ridiculous.

It's to show that he was right and everyone was wrong. A broken clock is right 2 times a day too.

But Brandon Marshall wasn't traded because he doesn't fit in a WCO. He was traded because he's a douche. That's why I don't see what the point of this thread is. It's like me saying Tannehill is going to fail because he's not a good prospect. His leg falls off in training camp ending his career and I brag about being right. It's pointless imo.

I anticipated that Brandon Marshall might not fit in well with Joe Philbin but I thought he'd be given a year to prove one way or another. I was wrong, they didn't even give him that.

I will start worrying about being wrong on Miami Dolphin opinions when I start getting paid to make them

yeah, I don't agree with the premise of this thread. marshall was a proven WR in a WCO. we'll never know how effective he could've been here, but to think he would've failed when he's already succeeded is misguided notion.

I wasn't here for the orginal thread but I wouldn't have said it was crazy if he didn't get along with the new coach he'd be gone. I would have expected us to draft better or more talent at WR and to have gotten more for marshall than what we did. What's more useful to this team? marshalls 1,200 yards or whatever we got out of our extra 3rd round picks?

people who say he's a scrub and not an on field talent are stupid. sorry, but you're being a homer. bears fans are laughing at us and will be all the way through the playoffs. Marshall is gonna dominate this year with a real qb, a running game and some other talent around him at WR. Devin Hester, if on our team, would be our best WR and that's pretty sad.

You didn't suggest, you asked a question if Marshall would be traded. You also didn't think he'd fit in the WCO when he had already been productive in the same offense under Shanahan.

My stomach dropped at work when I read the red BREAKING NEWS headline at nfl.com that said he had been traded ... I felt worse when I saw it was for just 2 third round picks when we used 2 second rounders to get him.

He definitely produced here and made some big plays that only he is capable of, a receiver with a talent and ability unlike this team has seen in decades.

HOWEVER I can understand the move given how Philbin wants this to be his team with his guys. We will certainly miss Marshall's production, that much goes without saying, BUT we will not miss those attitude issues, stupid penalties (throwing the ball at Cutler, personal foul against the titans), and his dropsies that plague him a little too much for the dominant receiver he can be.

something interesting to note about him though:
while being the dominant talent that he is ... i don't think he has never played on a team that ended up with a winning record in college or pro. obviously that is not all his fault, but interesting nonetheless.

1200 Yards, over 80 rec a year...he's a scrub? LOL...
No charges against him in the club means no suspension, means we got robbed as our only elite WR in 2 decades is gone for piss..

So ridiculous how people underestimate his value. Guess you'll see this year when our passing game is dog crap when our best WR is Bush.
Can't wait how you aqua colored glasses people will turn that into a positive.

Nine touchdowns in two seasons. Easily the most unproductive 1200+ and 80+ reception season ever.

Stats are stats. Nothing more.

Marshall will have another statistically decent season. It'll last about a year and then he'll revert to what he always was.
