just a reminder that were not always right

Exactly... we can predict the outcome correctly (and accidentally) using the wrong logic.

In this case, the question assumed that if he fit the WCO that would be the determination that we use to keep Marshall. As CK points out above, there are obviously other factors. Pro Football is a business and whether we like it or not personality and off-the-field issues are relevant.
Too bad those other relevant factors didn't counsel against giving up 2 second-round picks for the guy, or paying him a dump-truck full of money.

It does look bad in hindsight. But if you remember at the time the FO was trying to do anything to upgrade an offense in which the "big-play" threat was something off of the wildcat. There weren't a lot of options and at the time it seemed like a worthy gamble. Looking back and seeing how it made no difference in the overall team success makes it look bad in retrospect.

We also signed Karlos that summer, and he filled a huge hole at MLB and has been a team leader. Its like the man said, they don't sell insurance for this stuff. Sometimes free agents live up to the hype, and sometimesmthey implode. Be glad that we got something in return for him before he did something really stupid. Its really just a matter of time.

Philbin has it right. Build the offense thru the draft and use Free Agency to plug holes where the draft is weak.

Uumm no he hasn't, Zach Thomas was a team leader, Ray Lewis is a team leader, Peyton Manning and Drew Brees are team leaders, Karlos is a good player making elite money.

If he doesn't elevate his play this season then Miami can send him down the road too as far as I'm concerned.

Maybe but answer this, who would you rather have straight up, Zach or Karlos? I think the answer is obvious. I team leader does more than Dansby does, I had great expectations for him when he signed but he just isn't playing to the level of his contract.

Don't get me wrong, good player but he isn't an elite level LB but his pay would suggest otherwise, 8.8 million suggestions this season.
