We Dolfans are faced with an odd situation, one we AS Dolfans are not accustomed to. We are facing a losing season for the first time in what seems like for ever. No longer does all the "..we didn't make the playoffs.." talk even matter. I say WHEN we lose out the rest of the season9which is what seems like is gonna happen), we get the #1 OVERALL then we trade it to Atlanta for a few lower picks and M. Vick. They seem to be getting tired of him and I know you guys are gonna be saying "Oh he sucks, blah, blah" and "have you seen his game lately? blah, blah..." This is the way I'm looking at that possibility (even though it may not seem like a REAL one) since we'll be addressing the O-line this offseason(WE' BETTER!!!), we'll most definately have a better O-line than the Falcons do (making Mike's life easier) and taking into consideration that we may have Edge (who looks like a better idea as the season progresses) or any other fairly decent back to take some of the load off of Vick's shoulders. Plus an already nice looking Recievers Corps, this offense could do a total 180! But most importantly and above all else, a new coach's system (maybe a "West Coast" offense, duh!) will be a new beginning for our (for now) lowly Dolphins.
Something to think about: Figure the last time we went 0-3 a couple of seasons later we went 17-0 and won two SuperBowls!!!!

We have been spoiled for too long with constant average and above average teams that have not gotten us to the promised land, maybe we need a season like this, there's no where to go but up after this season.

Not bad...but you're dreaming if you think we can actually get Vick. Let alone if we do get him, that it won't cost us soo manypicks that we won't even be able to rebuild fully this offseason if we made that deal.

That all changes the day Wannstedt is run out of town...................
Exactly, they'd love to have the opportunity to play for a team that can only go up and WE HAVE some pieces to the puzzle, just need a few more. That and of course when we get a coach thats more attractive to free agents than The 'Stashe (which would be just about anyone), I think these caliber of players are very possibly in our reach!
The thing is, once The 'Stashe is gone I hope this philosophy of spreading the money around on ALL positions changes. This team has been so against any MAJOR investments that it keeps us from being competitive. It's like this, figure we have a team of pretty good players and we have for quite a few years now but where has it gotten us? I look at a team like Philadelphia, and I see a Super Stud QB and NOW a Super Stud WR & DE, three Stud players that are almost surely going to the playoffs and SuperBowl with a crew of below average players (Don't forget that McNabb got them to the Conference Championships three times in a row with niether of the two studs, priorly, so even one Stud can change a team). So I think we need to make HUGE moves in the off season and get AT LEAST one STUD in on OFFENSE!

15 straight years without a losing season they said last night.

Vick is playing well, no way Atlanta gets rid of him, he sells out the stadium. Edge, wants to come home, so maybe!

No way Vick or Edge would want to play for this team.
FOOTBALL 101 Class 1

Players go where the money is. Edge and Vick would play in Alaska if the money was right and if Alaska had a team. Guys could care less who they play for, where they play......they only care for HOW MUCH THEY PLAY FOR!

As much as Edge says he hates Indy......if Indy offers him the most money this offseason, guess what, he's staying in Indy.

Being an NFL football player means you have a short career. Between 5-10 years typically. So, you MUST make enough in that short time to last you a lifetime. Players ONLY care about the money.

I'd like to see a trade for our #1 pick similar to san deigo's suck'in of the Giant's.Where we get a top 5 pick a few picks this year to fix speilman's giveaways and a # 1 next year. The only problem, is there a player out there that someone wants that bad?

There are a couple running backs that people might trade up for. Mike Williams might draw huge interest by the right team as well.

Yea, as in a 1st and a 4th to move up. We wont see and Giants trades being made on draft day.

Eli stood out as a franchise QB plus he can suck off his brothers Reputation for being the best QB in the NFL. Giants game up the farm for him, I dont think there are any players in the NFL draft this year like him.

where would we have all that cap space with all the defensive players we got for vick and edge?

Some want to call this a rebuilding year. I think it will take a few years, which is really depressing. IMHO, the offense needs total rebuilding and while the team concentrates on offense we will start losing the defence. JT, Zack, Timbo, Surtain, Madison, Knight, Seau, et all are not playing forever. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see a few go after this season.

No doubt about that Mike O. And you can add the fact that players get traded and they have no choice (Marty Booker). My only thought was take away the money and what player would want to be on this team?
