First of all I'll apologise if this has been discussed or mentioned before as if it has I've missed it.

I've just watched the America's Game DVD of 1972 (great stuff btw, shame it was 12 years before i was born!) and was wondering what the view of the 1972 players would be should the modern day Fins go perfect. Now I would like to clarify that I know we have no chance in hell for a long while but should it happen do people think they would be pleased or not? They've always been pleased to see other teams lose their record as have we but do they want to be the only set of players, regardless of team to go perfect?

Just something that came into my mind listening to the comments of Csonka and Fernandez.

The 72 Dolphins are Dolphins fans, they want to see the team succeed. my take on it would be that they would be proud if any future fin team went undfeated.

Mercury Morris seems like an arrogant jackass so im sure he'd want his team to stay the only undefeated team

i have to agree with you here...i'd also think they'd be proud if it was another Dolphins team that went undefeated all the way through the season to the SB,and won that game as well.

While some of them may want that piece of legacy all to themselves, I am sure to a man they would all agree that if it had to be any team, the phins would be the one they would choose.

That being said, I assume most of them would be very happy. I suppose the only downside would be if people started asking questions like "which team was 'better'".

This is what I would hope it was just the way Csonka kept saying things about them in that one moment in time etc. I know they were there last year to inspire us to our win and always want us to do well, was just a wondering that maybe they wouldn't want us to go perfect.

I'm very confident that we're the only team they would want to do it which proves they're Fin fans.
