Well I guess I need to have my say about Brady Quinn, yes I was dissappointed to see the "golden domer" sitting there ready to be crowned King Dolphin and yes it felt like a kick in the gut to hear the name Tedd Ginn Jr......... nothing against Ginn just the expectation of Quinn being the choice.

So after walking away and letting the anger supside I started to wonder why why not Quinn the first thing to come to mind for me was Rick Mirer for it was Mirer that Mueller drafted in Seattle that I think left an impression on him that may still be with Mueller.
In many ways Quinn is Rick Mirer hes a Notre Dame golden boy who the media loves if it was up to the Draft Talkinh heads then Quinn would have been a dolphin, however put under a microscope one learns that not only Miami but many teams had questions about Quinn.

Cleveland,MinnesotaDetroit and Miami all passed on him with very much unsettled qb questions add that teams like Carolina Dallas and Baltimore didnt make moves up for a "falling star" indicate to me that maybe Quinn is truly flawed.
As for miami while they never said it reading between the lines they felt after haveing his QB tutor(shea) three workouts and giving him test(mentally) that his lack of aquracy and perhaps his pention for playing poorly when pressured
he simply was not as good as the PR machine said he was, one other thing I considered why was charlie weiss trying so hard to convince Cleveland to draft Quinn maybe he saw this freefall that if quinn didnt go #3 he would take a long ride down.
Randy Mueller has made his stake on John Beck,we fans dont know how things will go we all want it to work because its not that we really wanted Brady Quinn as much as we wanted what he represented Hope.. hope that this franchise can turn around on the arm of a savoir at the QB position.
Rick Mirer couldnt do it for Seattle and after that mistake Randy Muller decided that he couldnt make the same mistake with Brady Quinn.

Cam Cameron has watched Drew Brees and Philip Rivers up close and personal and certainly has the pedigree to be able and decide when a QB has "it" and when he doesn't. Who will produce in "HIS" system and who won't.

It may be a little soon to be calling Quinn "Rick Mirer." He's a good prospect, but I still don't think he'll be a franchise guy. I think Beck, based on his collegiate accomplishments was drafted about where he belongs. I think Quinn was drafted about where he belonged.

Comparisons between the two situations, while somewhat similar, aren't as close as it seems. Mirer had all the measurables. He also came from a successful stint at ND, but had a very good supporting cast around him. Quinn's cast wasn't quite as good as what Mirer had.

At any rate, Cam-Mul be hanging their star on Ginn, Beck, CC, MB, DM, RB, RW, JT, ZT, JP, etc...they've made it clear that this team will win together. So the jury is out still and will be for another 2 yrs, but without a doubt, it'll be fun to watch, unlike the dull, unimaginative offense we've seen for several years here...

I am starting to calm down and agree with the creator of this post. If Cleveland didn't feel he was warranted to go at #3 why are we so mad that Miami didn't take him at 9. As a matter of fact my buddy who is a Jets fan and wrong about 90% of the stuff out of his piehole called it a "disaster" that they didn't take Quinn. That just confirms it for me that they made the right decsion. Look everyone is a critic and they haven't even played a down for the team yet. This team needed explosiveness on offense, although I would have rather seen them take Darnelle Reevis at #9 then get a WR in the 2nd along with Beck I think they did all right. Remember other than Montana ND QB's in the pros haven't exactly panned out. Also everyone thought that Ryan Leaf was the best QB in the draft in 1998 and Indy got some critisim for not taking Leaf and it worked out OK for them. I am not saying Beck is MAnning but these things work themselves out. If it were up to me Beck would start in Washington opening because lets face it Green isn't going to win us the Super Bowl. I just assume let him take his lumps now and next year with the good draft picks we have load up. I have never been a look down the road guy but we have to be realistic this team has been average for a long time and needs youthful playmakers in several areas to be able to compete with NE IND PIT and so on.

superduper85 I think you get my drift.. most teams passed on Quinn in fact espn was making a big deal out of the fact Baltimore was on the phone with quinn when the browns traded up(a move some questioned due to the price)buts there is no proff Balt would have selected Quinn.
Savage said they got their '08 #1 a year early you can always spin a situation but like we have learned in miami trading away draft picks better work in the short term cause it always hurts long term.
