Just Because we beat the jags we still dont have tie breaker with them.

I have been seeing postings in here saying that we are ahead of the jags because we beat them. Not True. Right now they have the better conference record so as of now they go ahead of us. If we win out and they win out, they go in.

If we win out and they win out, it is irrelevant because we win the AFC East.

they are ahead of us now simply because they have 1 more conference win than we do (in 1 more conference game).

Dude that only matters if it's a 3 way tie. If it's a 2 way tie, head to head ALWAYS wins out.

I've seen lots of threads that have said JAX is still the 6 seed

Technically they are only ahead of us because Baltimore is in the mix. They are not ahead of based solely on conference record. If it were a 2 way tie, we would be ahead of them.

...but Baltimore IS in the mix...so they are ahead of us on conference record. It's stupid to have these 'if the playoffs started today' graphics that every sports channel and website have...but the reason that the Jags are in in those, and we are out, is because of that 'better' conference record.

How do you figure that if we win out we win the East? The Pats have to drop another game for us to win the east.
 
Unless the season magically ends today, you can ignore anything that starts with "if the season ended today..."

...and one of their (Patriots) remaining opponents is the Jaguars.

So like I said, if we win out, and they (Jaguars) win out, we win the division.

Uh, I thought that if they win out it means they beat the Pats, which means we can get the AFC East crown. If they lose to the Pats we hold a better record then they do and get the wild card over them (nevermind the Ravens needing to lose another game too).

Either way, I think the Jags are no longer standing in our way.
