They call them "attitude plays," those moments of machismo when a football offense sets out to impose its will and set a tone that can carry it through an entire afternoon.

Those are "attitude plays."

Nobody in today's NFL is better at them than Lousaka Polite.

His philosophy on short-yardage is as blunt as the fullback dive on which he has become so unstoppable for the Miami Dolphins these past 13 months.

"A yard," he says, "is hard to gain."

Somehow, he keeps gaining it.

Go ahead. Call him "Mr. Automatic" if you like. The name is fitting.

I love the attitude! So, conscientious that he is still regretting not getting that conversion when running out the clock. A FB wanting to be a perfectionist is a wonderful thing for a running attack. Not only Henne but I am sure Ronnie and Ricky surely appreciates his attitude.
