For all of the people who were so adamant about getting Alex Smith and NOT taking a RB, be it Ronnie, Cedric, or Caddy, in round 1, Do you still wish we had been in the position to get Smith or are you glad we took Ronnie? This isn't intented to rub anything in or start any huge "I told you so" arguments, I'm just wondering if people still wish we had taken, or been able to take, Alex Smith in the draft. Just a nice thread to stray from all the "Gus/Chambers/Reggie sucks" threads and the "T.O." threads and the "Leinart/WHat QB do you want to draft" threads.

I'm happy with Ronnie. He should be a great player in the future. I mean when Ronnie Brown is supposedly the "next LT" said by a certain someone whose coaching one of the greatest Dynasties in NFL history... You should be happy.

IMO, both Smith and Rodgers are bums. both teams made mistakes drafting them.

this years QB class is so much better.

Alex Smith might turn out to be a bust, Ronnie is a sure-thing

I'll be the first to admit that I desperately wanted A Smith. I seen the QB situation as being the most essential part of the draft at the time. As things worked out we needed help in many positions. But once you get a guy and he produces, its very difficult to say you dont like or want him. right now I wouldn't swap ronnie for the world, and when the knockers were out because caddy was the man, i even defended Ronnie saying he could be great someday, and probably better all round than caddy. I aint seen anything to change my mind. IMO Ronnie was the pick of the draft, and i wouldn't be at all surprised to see Ronnie rookie of the year

Has Rodgers played? and I wouldnt call Smith a bust yet, look at the Mannings,& look at Palmer, and Im sure youre thrilled that Losman played well against a good Chiefs D on Sunday . Every NFL player develops at a certain pace, you should have learned that by now.

Ronnies a stud I have always supported him and he s gonna be one of the best RBs in this League( unless he will undergo some unfortunate circumstances)

Im also happy with ronnie, very happy, lol. Although I did want a running back all along, I will admit that I was pulling, adamantly, for Cedric. Boy am I happy we picked Ronnie, especially because, as someone already stated, a "certain someone" called him the next LT, and LT has been my favorite NFL player since the day he got drafted. To have Ronnie be compared to him, and be on OUR TEAM, is AWESOME.

Ronnie is the man. All we need is an above average QB to take the pressure off and he'll be competing for leading rusher, etc.

I mean the guy is splitting carries with a pro bowl back and he's still has 600+ yards. He will probably gain 1000+ in just rushing this season and that is good for a rookie who was a "back up".

Ronnie is the man but we really need consistancy at QB so Alex Smith could of panned out. I have to admit I wasn't to happy when we drafted Ronnie even though I figured he would be great I just thought Braylon Edwards would of made are passing attack amazing and I had high hopes on Gus Frerotte and our passing game this season with Linehan.
