Just to kill some time and for discussions sake which can help everyone learn about players in the coming Free Agency and Draft I'm going to take a slight look ahead to the 09 season for 2 spots on this team and also ask you guys which way you see them going as far as players in those positions because evreyone has knowledge here and there about certain players.

1) the O line...I believe it is set at LT, LG, and RG (hoping thomas comes back stronger, smarter as far as learning the game in the NFL, the playbook, and having a abetter feel for the NFL level).

I think RT is a key issue and I honestly dont know the situation with Carey. He has had a poor season and that might be with him TRYING to hard b/c its a contract year. Not sure but he has declined and Satele is getting blown up during running plays.

Who do you see Miami looking at to replace Satele and Carey in FA or draft and who fits the mold/$/player type. I'm not syaing they will be gone, I am saying IF they are going to be who would you want to replace them. I think for now Center will come via draft "IF" we do and RT can come via draft as well but i do see miami going after Colombo from Dallas. massive Tackle and a BP draftee I believe.

2) Defensive Backs. Will Allen has a spot on this roster next year as does Jason Allen and I am pretty confident miami will resign Bell to a 3 yr deal considering hes 33 years old and they will draft someone to replace him in later rounds I'm sure. Goodman is gone as is Hill. Goodman MAY return as a 5th or 4th DB but not sure if they will do that.

Assuming both allens and bell remain on teh roster with lehan maybe, miami needs a FS and 2 more CBs. Who do you see miami going after or who do you want them going after via FA or Draft. I would love to get chansellor (sp) from VT for the S spot or even Chung. CB i can see miami going after a Gamble or Mcfadden as both fit the mold of what they like. Asomugha will get resigned as the rumor is that is why the raiders are unloading Hall, walker and apparenlty kelley as well. I do hope Rhodes hits the market and the jets are stuipd enough to let him walk b/c I see miami running after him ala Ireland and Hamlin 2 years ago. In the draft I can see miami targeting a guy like Parson in round 2, butler, Mickens I like a lot, and so forth.

Share your thoughts and players...Remember its just to keep people up to date with current situations and players as some may follow them via games they watch on sundays or saturdays.

replace Satele and Carey? I doubt either one of them is gone from this team in the offseason....Satele's only in his 2nd year and Carey''ll be fine too.he's playing a different position for the 3rd year in a row but he'll stay there now....as far as DB's is hard to say cause we don't know who's gonna hit the market and who'll be there on draft day so is early to tell.

Ozzy rules!!

well I may be the only one that wants to aproach this this way but I really think if we could get Madison and Surtain back and bring in one more ot in f.a then we could use the draft to draft 2 dt's 2 wr's 1 linebacker and maybe one fullback.

Is Madison even starting? Is Surtain even relevent anymore? They were great in their heydey, but not now.

And then parcells wakes up from his terrible nightmare and they go a different route by taking a monster run blocking guard, a linebacker and a NT with thier first 3 picks.

over the next two years if i were GM I would take linebacker 1st reluctantly because I wouldnt want to take a guard in the first. I would go guard and then nose tackle in the second because the best of those positions can be found in that round

I would follow it up the following year with flash, wide receiver, corner and safety.

Yea those two are done dude. gotta move on from the past.

The RT situation is certainly one to monitor....I think Donald Thomas might get a look at RT....I think he's capable...otherwise....I have no idea. I don't know if Parcells would pursue an upgrade via free agency or what...Jordan Gross maybe?

I don't think they view upgrading Satele as a priority yet....but I certainly think he was a better fit for last years offense. Parcells may favor a more driving run blocker for this scheme....Antoine Caldwell and Jonathan Luigs (Remington Award recipient) are two players that I think would fit this scheme much better than Satele via the draft IF they chose to go that route.

I'm totally on board with signing Bryant McFadden to bolster the secondary.

I like Rashad Johnson at FS with one of our 2nd rounders....Trimaine Goddard and Derek Pegues are also options as potential FS upgrades.

It is clear that we will add to our OL talent during the offseason. We still do not have the bulldozers required to be a dominant offensive line.

Is Madison even starting? Is Surtain even relevent anymore? They were great in their heydey, but not now.

Catfish is the guy that, as recent as the Denver game, said that the Dolphins are the laughingstock of the league and that Tony Sparano isn't serious about winning. So consider his comments in that context.

i relaly like mcfadden and i also like Johnson as a FS. hes a big time hitter and a playmaker.

Mcfadden would be hte cheaper route compared to gamble. Mcfadden would be a good option for good money, will allen is done next year, assumign we dont sign him and we draft soemeon this year to be a starter we have JA, Mcfad and the rookie to be starters when WA leaves if we dont resign him whch i think we should cuz hes very serviceable.

The two areas that need the most attention are wide receiver and def. back. Both will be hard to fill in the draft as we rack up wins and move down the draft order. Maybe a free agent will be the answer or a malcontent wanting out of their current team.
New England seems to find those bad attitudes that want to play for a winner (Dillon, Moss) - Its time Miami takes a shot at one.

Will Allen isnt a FA next year. But i would stil love to sign Gamble/Mcfadden. That would bump Will Allen to #2, Jason Allen to #3, Goodman to #4, Lehan #5, and hopefully we draft a CB so he can be #5.

As for the offensive line, C and RT are priorities. Vernon carey and Samson Satele are struggling. But Satele is still young, and Carey is can still improve, and i expect him to. But, if this FO wants to replace Satele, Alex Mack might be available. The best C prospect to come out in a while.

columbo was drafted by the bears, but he didnt work out there... then blossomed under parcell's cowboy team
