It was pretty cool. He was seated on the floor, so being the stocker I am, I went to the section right above him and shook his hand and got an autograph. I told him good luck next year with Mike Nolan. He was a pretty cool guy! It's not much but its my brush with fame I guess.

Should have told him to put in a good word for ya, and get Gibril the h*ll out of Miami! Haha. Seriously though that pretty sweet

Awesome man. Good thing you wore the Fin hat to the game so he knew you were a real fan.

awesome, now you gotta buy another fins hat

Wow nice man. That takes balls to go up to a professional athlete like that.

i would have gotten a photo. f-it sure he would have let u. anyway thats sweet!!

Hell yeah! Former EIU student right here! Class of '03. Good luck to EIU's own Sean Payton in the Super Bowl

That is awesome! What are the odds, haha! I love Manning, but I might have to root for the Saints because of Payton. He's such a badass. Have you seen the huge Romo, Shannahan, Payton, and other huge banners outside of O'Brien Field? It really adds a cool element to the outside of the stadium.

I still go to at least one basketball game at Lantz Arena every year (usually around Christmastime) and I saw the huge Romo banner last time I was there. It was sweet. I wasn't aware the others had banners though. I graduated with Romo from the Speech Comm. department in '03, so I was fortunate to see him play every year he was there.

That's awesome. Yeah, the Romo banner you saw was his EIU Hall of Fame banner. All of the other banners (including Romo's other banner) are on the west side of the stadium. Romo was such a badass when he was here. (Walter Payton Award Winner). I was at the homecoming game this year in the 2nd row and Romo walked right past to me, because he was inducted into the EIU Hall of Fame then. It was pretty sweet. EIU football had a promising season only to collapse at the end of the year.
