If we pick up Daunte, not sure if im happy with it but ill take it as its better then waht we have then we can still hold our 1st pick and imagine picking up a Bing or LaRon and still have a Franchise QB on our helms. t aht would be awesome! BUT, i rather start fresh ala R brown, C crowder, JT and such. start a fin and possibly retire a fin. I want our OWN identity, not someone htey can say he did this over at yada yada.

Btw. Imagine if 49ers took brown or caddy then this year iwht the number one took pennington/ quinn, young whatevr it may be. that woudl ahve been a pretty damn GREAT 2 yrs of number 1's. tooo badd htye didn'dt have saban as their coach n thank god they took smith or else he woudl be our qb. not calling him a bust but as they said last year, niether him or rodgers are the franchise type QB's.

Wouldnt we have to trade for Daunte? I would imagine he would garner at least a 1st round pick.

If we had drafted Smith, I think at this point in his career, he would be sitting on the bench and either Sage or Feeley would be starting. It is rarely a good idea to throw a college QB out to face a Pro NLF linebacker.

Especially one who had to learn to play under center IN the NFL

WTF are you talking about? Trading the #1 overall pick for Penny?!?!?!  :shakeno:

How did you type that incoherent dribble and manage to type a coherent title?

I wouldnt mind Daunte. Here are 2 questions to consider: Will he be the same with his effed up knee? and How much would he cost us?

If you mean Culpepper, he may not be ready to play again until mid-season or later. It's been said that his injury will take a full calendar year to heal. He probably won't be let go by the Vikes because of that. They can let him go into FA, but I'm sure he'll want them to be medically responsible until he is healthy enough...I don't know the legal terms in the NFL, but I'm sure he'd be covered somehow until he's ready again.

Plus is he actually effective without MOss?

I don't want Daunte anywhere near Miami.

Has been overrated ever since college IMO.

Maybe I am being too harsh. Shoot I am willing to take Harrington and give him a try who has shown way less then Culpepper.

I wouldn't mind Daunte I guess as long as we didn't trade any 1st day pick for him. Maybe a player or 2 and a pick or something. I just feel he isn't worth a 1st or 2nd round pick.
