This team has a lot of needs IMO.....
First of all they need to re-sign Bell, Carey, Crowder and Goodman, and I don't think they will be able to lock up all of them but even if they did there are still a lot of holes to fill.
OL: G, C, backup OT's we need em all
WR: Our guys are young and showed promise last year... Blah Blah Blah, those of you that think we don't need a #1 WR are seriously fooling yourselves.
DT: Fergy is getting up there in years and we need a stud here.
OLB: I actually have a good feeling about Wake but he is far from proven in this league and JP is getting old.
MLB: Both Crowder and Ayodele are solid here but neither are real playmakers and both can dissapear in games.
CB: Allen and Goodman are good starting CB's but both are old and we have nothing behind them worth a you know what.
FS: Hill isn't horrible, but he's not that good either and he let up a lot of big plays this past season.
Even DE, and TE could be upgraded IMO. I know I'll prolly get ripped for saying that and let me explain first...... TE both Fasano and Martin are solid but I don't see either of them ever being top players at that position in the NFL, hopefully I'm wrong but that's just how I see it. There is a LOT of love for Fasano on these boards but he dissapeared in a lot of games and to me was average. DE we have the young draftees from last season in Langford and Merling, I have Very Very high hopes for both of these guys but I'm not 100% sold on eithe rof them either.
The only positions I feel we don't need at all are QB and HB, with TE and DE being of low priority as well. So how do we plug these holes and keep building this team up? Well I believe Miami has to draft BEST PLAYER AVAILABLE throughout the entire draft at those positions of need.... OL, WR, DT, LB, CB, S. We may need some of those positions more than others but they need bodies at all of these spots and the better players they get the better the team will be. They will also need some key FA signings IMO, not necesarily huge names but they can sign some solid guys to backup and/or compete for starting jobs. Those of you who think you ONLY build a team thru the draft are also kidding yourselves, FA is a key part for every team in the offseason, and if Miami does lose any of our own key FA's(Crowder, Bell, Goodman, Carey) then they are going to need to be big players in FA IMO.
