The more I see people cry to move Chambers from #1 reciever to #2 the more fuel I get for my lil "everyone on this board knows nothing about football cept 4-5 people) argument. Changeing someones # on a piece of paper is going to do exactly what? You think just because hes listed as the #2.... hes going to be covered by a different corner back? newsflash... this isnt a computer simulation, a defensive coordinator will stick whoever he wants on Chambers regardless of his # on the depth chart. If someone feels hes the bigger threat, he will be covered by their best; however, most teams don't keep the same corner covering the same reciever too often, it just leads to alot of problems unless your whole scheme is to allow one player to play Man-to-Man while the rest does the scheme (denver with Bailey). Also... the other thing I heard was... "being the #2 reciever allows him to work out of the slot where hes more productive!" .... We have an offensive coordinator.. this isnt Madden, we can stick a reciever anywhere on the field we choose, a bit of ink on a sheet of paper isnt going to change that(unless ofcourse its his death certificate, figured someone would slip in a dumb responce :p).

I personaly like our current group of recievers, Wayne would be an upgrade in someways but his price tag will be too high. The other thing I heard was... Eric Moulds? that guy will never be in a fin uniform, he has alot of bad blood on this team and I dont (personaly albeit) believe he would want to be here either :p Reciever isnt one of our needs, although it wouldnt hurt to pick up another player via FA... Wayne and Moulds wont be one of them.

To the Quaterback situation.... Gus will be our starter next year, End of Discussion. Most likely we will draft a qb.. we have the ability to find the "Diamond in the Rough" with our staff. Gus will be around for another season and thats most likely it, he will then either resign and be a backup or retire. Our coaches like him and what they say simply goes, our staff is not going to change their view point because of a media/community uproar. They make the money for these decisions and I will support whatever they decide, since they know ALOT more than any of us in the department because #1 they have Hands on expierence #2 they are RIGHT THERE with the players day in and out to understand their capabilities.

Trade ricky? are... you people on crack? haha.. and why do you keep crying for them to run ronnie more? hmm the answer is simply "You want ronnie to have tons of yards and get a reward" sorry not going to happen. Ricky is not going anywhere, his contract is the vet minimum and there isnt much of a market. Unless some very very nice deal comes in... hes staying put. His mere presence has helped ronnie see holes and adapt to the next level of football. He doesnt have to take the brunt of the load.. and its keeping him healthy, hell our runningback core is injury free for the first time in many years.

Wes Welker is our returnman and it wont be changeing. There is no reason to be nitpicking at his abilitys, he always flashes signs of greatness and sorry but speed =/= field of vision. Hes small and can weave through crowds... but still has the sight to break long runs, he also isnt "slow"

I really dont feel like addreseing our other concerns at this time, but those are the main topics ive noticed throughout these forums and have had a problem with. O yeah... when you talk about gus, give him his props and stop taking it away with the next statement of "wow hes good but hes not the answer" ... ive noticed this board LOVES to say the same lil statements over and over and over. scan through posts, you will see people using the same statements over and over... its like they really dont know anything about football and simply restate other peoples points... cause they lack the ability to come up with their own ideas?

He is not good and he is not the answer. Referring to Gus Frerotte. We were the only team sad enough at QB that he would even have a chance of starting on.

Ive always said it doesnt matter who is #1 or #2, just as long as we have someone big enough to demand double coverage so this offense can be high powered. Linehans style almost demands it.

Gus Frerrote was never the "answere". We dont even know who that "answere" will be. But Gus Frerrote could have been much better if CC and others just caught the damn ball when it was in there gut.

I agree with alot of what you say, especially the part about Ricky. I would NEVER trade him unless the value was worthy of the kind of back he USED to be. I'm sorry but that's how I feel. Many posters are trade and draft pick happy. It's like, just becuase you gain a 5th round pick, you are going to get a Zach Thomas type player. Give me a break. There are also many posters who love to talk about juggling the starters.

I disagree with the "diamond in the rough" at QB. I want a first round QB with franchise QB potential. We've been playing that game too long so I say game over.

next season we may see more of a 3 reciever set. that will eliminate the double coverage almost because of our rb's out of the backfield. yes I agree his style demands it almost... but its not really a necessity, since we have found our recently.

About the Diamon in the rough.. I didnt mean wait until the late rounds... wasnt what I meant. Saying our front office has been known for seeing the abilitys in players and an expierened guy who seems to always find good quaterbacks. Thats all I meant, I dont want a journy man which is why i said Gus will be back and start.. we will groom someone below him till he can take over.

As for Chambers he is a #1 WR catching passes from a #2 Quarterback and has never had a #1 playing with him. We need to get another young receiver or sign a guy like Moulds kind of cheap, WR is not a huge need to take high.

I can see us taking a chance on either Moss or Owens though. Wouldn't surprise me one bit and considering Booker costs 4m already, why not do it?

Booker will renegotiate his contract I believe. I think saban will kinda force it.... I doubt Moss will go anywhere, but.... Saban is def a probability. Owens strong force on crossing patterns causes alot of safetys to bite, he would be a great compliment to chambers from a skill standpoint. Moss on the otherhand if we DID actually aquire... can only go deep and out jump players, hes horrible at route running.

I would welcome owens and im sure our front office can control him. He knows he doesnt have much of a shot left so he "might" refrain from his antics, however... i do believe that everything in philly was not his fault. They knew owens was always hated by the media and all they needed to do was make anything look like he caused it, and they would bite.

With the recent updates on the status of some of the possible available QB's...wouldnt mind seeing Steve Mcnair..or David Carr here next year. Gus will be here..but as a #2 for sure. Sage will be gone and so will Lemon if we draft a QB.

I love a man that can speak his mind and it can be understood by so many... I agree with you 100%!!! GUS will start next year... CC is a #1 receiver and RICKY is a keeper...

Why anyone would want to change that is beyond me... As far as FA goes... If CULPEPPER is released by the VIKES... He will be in a FIN's jersey next year... Other than that, I think we focus on OL and DB positions in the first 3 rounds unless QUINN is available...

Then we are on the same page. I'd rather have a QB who has been with the team for a season and is comfotable with the offense and receivers with the true QB of the future behind him, then another journeyman who's marginally better and more talented than Gus. I'm a firm believer in continuity in the NFL and disturbing it too much every season is foolish. If you don't believe it works, look at the Chiefs o-line. Some changes but very little = best O-line in the NFL.

def, I can see Culpepper comeing here.... if it isnt him... we must draft a qb. I would ignore his stats from this year simply because... nothing was clicking up in Minn. If you watched his games.. alot of his interceptions were bobbles by the reciever.... or tipped and magicaly landed in an opponents hands. New offense and he never had the time to gel with his recievers.
