What has he done ? Who has he played against ? Name a Utah QB who's ever done anything in the NFL.

SO now you draft based on what the school history on certain position.I guess Rick Myer was a no brainer for Seahawk because of the hisotry behind Irish Qb's.
 
I agree with say no to Alex Smith, however my reasoning isn't cause of his school. I want to draft Braylon Edwards.
 
Smith is on ESPN radio at the moment.
 
It's exactly the same mentality that some use to justify not drafting Edwards (UMich WR) or not trading for LJ (Penn St RB).

It's all rubbish though.
 
He took frigging Utah to a BCS game. He played against and beat a BCS team.

Name an Alcorn State QB who ever did anything in the NFL before McNair.
 
I agree, no qb at #2.

I dont care about other rounds, just not with our first pick.

Yeah, because it was such a disaster when we used our first pick on a QB in 1983. Again, it just SUCKED when we did it in 1967. :rolleyes2
 
Edwards is lightyears better than Smith.

You draft an IMPACT player that high in the draft, you draft somebody who will start NOW that high in the draft.

Smith will NOT start this year. He's not an IMPACT player.


Edwards can make a difference this year, not in 3 years.


Pass on Smith.

Period.

well said. and to everyone who wants WR instead of QB, you can have all the great WR in the world but they still need someone to pass the ball to them. i stated in another post, the last 13/15 SB winners all have great QB. not okay QB with amazing WRs.

and to compare random stupid comparsion... being in washington, the last WR who brought a bentley before getting drafted was micheal westbrook.... he was just amazing!!

Right. You're concerned about getting an IMPACT player, but you don't want a RB -- the position where it is UNDISPUTED by any reasonable person we have a giant hole and where virtually every 1st rounder not backing up a HOFer starts in their first year.

Why is it that at least half the Braylon Edwards fans annoy me so much they turn me against him as a player?
 
With the trade to KC imo we now can take smith or rodgers at the Qb position. We won't get a chance like this in a long time. We got lucky that marino dropped as far as he did. But it won't happen again. Quality Qbs are to important to not grab when you have a chance.

Are you comparing Marino to Alex smith? You have to be kidding.

Oh wait you used a smiley to make your point it must be good.
I love people that think Alex smith is such a no brainer.
