Superbowl starting QB's! 1999 Superbowl starting QB's, 2000 Superbowl starting QB's, 2001 Superbowl starting QB's, 2002 Superbowl starting QB's, 2003 Superbowl starting QB's, and on and on. Please name me a can't miss. gotta draft QB (besides Troy Aikman *Jimmy Johnson) in the early first round that has won a superbowl in the last 20 years? I am really hoping you find this TEAM transcending human being that can do it all. You will look and look for your hero! You will find that the way to win any team sport is to do it as a TEAM. QB is a very important position! But if you mean to tell me that almost any talented QB could not win a superbowl on the patties..... THIS SEASON SUCKS! WE NEED TO DRAFT QB WITH EVERY PICK AND MOVE UP TO DRAFT THE PRECIOUS! SMFH

That was hard to read, I guess your point is that drafting a QB high doesn't guarantee a Superbowl? Which is true but don't see anyone arguing is the case.

You're more likely to find success with a better QB, and you're more likely to find a better QB at the top part of the draft than lower down.

Wow... I need to be more selective on first post readings at 5AM... got the point but man , hard to read for sure … sounds like a rant lol … QB isn't the be all end all I agree … but as stated by meatpardle (always wonder what that means lol) it's a very important piece to have ...

Having a guy you can build the TEAM around … one that will be here a dozen or so years … is a HUGE part of the offense … the earlier you pick the more choices you have to drool over … but whether it's pick #1 or #101 you got to get it right … scouting, coaching and the right fit

Sorry. It made more sense in my head. Which team that drafted a QB in the top 10 will win the SB this year?

Here we go again......pretty soon we'll get posters saying we should play with only 10 guys on offense and just skip the QB.

I have a question Danny? If I gave you any QB in the history of the game to play every position for your team.... Do you think you would beat my team if I chose a non QB player to play every position on my team?
Also, great way to not answer the previous question. If you do not have an answer...checkmate!

lol.......you can spin it all you want but we both know you need a QB......not saying that's all you need tho. We need a complete balanced team. The QB's that do the best are often the ones that go to a good situation where he gets the help he needs but you still need that QB. Example.......when we drafted Marino we had just gone to the super bowl the year before so he came to a good team and a good situation but guess what? David Woodley was in that same situation but he was never as good as Dan. My point is you need a QB and you need a team around him too.

I guarantee you that Lamar Jackson will have a bigger impact on the Ravens chances to reach the Super Bowl moreso than Nick Bosa will have on the 49ers.

The continued success of the Texans is more dependent on the arm of Watson than the blocking of Tunsil.

All that to say (player wise), a QB has the most to do with a team's success, or failure. Why not get your guy and ride the wave for 3-4 years before you have to change your build philosophy.

That's total nonsense.

And if your car broke down in the middle of nowhere and I sent you a
tree surgeon to fix it while I had a mechanic up my sleeve can a cat
meow in zero gravity?

Ok cool now do one with all the playoff teams

7/12 had qbs drafted in the 1st round and one of the other 5 was drew brees 1st pick of the 2nd round

stop spouting dumb theories that try to diminish the importance of the qb

Those two teams are interesting. The 49ers look great now. I suggest they make the most of 2019. It is likely not a sustainable concept on defense and overall physicality. Garopollo is putting up fine numbers (8.1 YPA) in really the first season he's had sufficient attempts to evaluate.

Lamar Jackson is the most intriguing quarterback in years because he's never the same guy from season to season. I emphasized that approaching the draft. He wasn't ready then but it was impossible to make concrete pronouncements because Jackson works so hard to improve in the offseason you never know exactly where he'll be the following summer. Footwork improves. Touch improves. Placement improves. I really give him credit, even if I think last week was a good indication of the problems he'll face from smart defenses in the playoffs. That Chargers playoff game last season can't be tossed completely.

hoops was one of the few around here who continually emphasized the positives with Lamar Jackson, no matter what it looked like strictly toward the pros at that point in time.

Carson Wentz is exactly the opposite. Shocking repression. His mechanics are awful bordering on incompetent. Wide stance and high elbow lending to harsh delivery and virtually no variance in pace and loft. No chance to make every throw in the rainbow depending on evolving requirement of the play. Not many quarterbacks make Ryan Fitzpatrick look less reliant on the mindless line drive than they are, but Carson Wentz is one of them. From early stages of that Dolphins game last week I was thinking the Eagles better darn sure capitalize on every opportunity to the fullest while things are going well for them, because based on Carson Wentz' tunnel vision and lack of repertoire things won't go well if he's forced to deal with a tight game.

Wentz really needs to get his head out of his rear and understand everything is not okay. He'll never be much of anything given current level. Take the same offseason steps that Lamar Jackson has taken. It is not the fault of the offense or personnel or coaching, etc. Carson Wentz is earning every bit of that miserable 6.5 YPA. and 6.5 is above where he's been game to game for the past month. I realize Nick Foles is struggling with Jacksonville but point in time right now there is no question Philadelphia 2019 would be superior with Foles at quarterback and not Wentz.
