Just thinking aloud....

I don't think that's right. he may have to serve a 4 game and I doubt that but, I'm almost positive that the full season penalty is only enforced if he tries to come back this year.

An attempted return this year, would be viewed as a 4th positive drug test and he would have to serve the year but, if he doesn't attempt a return this year that penalty will be no longer applicable.[/QUOTE

Before he retired wasnt there some type of deal on the table that would have had him out of the program if he agreed to pay a fine?

Would not want him (Ricky back) Trade his rights. He left the team hanging and could say what he wants, he left for Dope and the hope for more money! ENOUGH SAID!

Like I said, unlike most, I would be all for it. Besides, isn't life all about second chances.
If r**** was allowed to come back and play for the phins (or anyone) could you imagine the flood gates this would open to other players who were unhappy with their contracts or teams??

As for him returning...no thanks r**** can stay in his tent wherever the hell it ends up...

all the talk about next year has got me thinking...

If the player that shall not be named really doesn't want to play for Dave so much that he ruined his reputation and possibly his checkbook, I wonder if he'll want to come back next year, if Wanny is fired?
Can you see our starting offense??

Feeley, Konrad, Chambers, McMike, Boston, Booker, Gordon, and Ricky.

OMG

I got to admit...I freakin miss seeing Ricky Williams run the pigskin...I used to get pumped when he ran the ball...he was a freakin bull...he used to punish tacklers...he was our franchise back...but as much as I miss seeing him run the ball for us...I don't want him back!!! He provided a lot of excitement when he was a fin running the ball but...he's a loser!!!

I could just see it now...a big playoff game (hey i could dream okay) and the night before they can't find Ricky...where did he go??? He's probably with Lenny on tour!!!

Foogedaboudit...he's done in my eyes!!!

Go Fins!!!

I was about to start a thread on the same topic.Take Wanny and this FO out of the equation and project yourself to next year with a new org. And the Fins still holding the rights to RW.

Maybe by then RW will see the light and want to come back.If he apologizes and says the right things he may find his way back into the good graces of the team and Fans.Or at least after he repents we could get some trade value for his services. It brings up some interesting scenarios.

You know I was one of afew that stuck up for him on this board when he quit.
But after a couple of weeks and more of the truth came out I was really disapointed in him and no longer defended him. Now all I can think about is how Pat Tillman walked away from millions and ended up giving his life for this country while RW walked away to smoke pot, bad mouth our team and then say he would come back for more money. You do the math. I don't want him back.

that'd be fine with me too....I'd be just as happy with draft picks instead of him.
Two thought on that.
1. I wonder what kind of picks we could actually get for Ricky and what the Dolphind demand.
2. I wonder what teams would be willing to take the risk.
My guesses......
1. The Dolphins take no less than a first rounder and maybe even another conditional pick.
2. Oakland, NY Giants and maybe Tampa Bay.

Nothing makes me happier than seeing finfans talking about hopes for next year during week 2.:roflmao:
seriously though,a first rounder is a stretch because i can't see anyone taking that chance on him. Count the Giants out, they don't have a pick to give you.

I for one don't want him back...

He has lost the respect of his teammates, a quitter with no logical excuse for it. If he is allowed to return, there would definetley be a mutiny.

.
When you start like this.....you don't get to do "seriously". Sorry.

If everybody's healthy and wanting to play hard, that's definitely a potent lineup, but I don't think Ricky will play for this team again unless we have a new coach. And even then it may not happen. I think he has a better chance of playing for us than any other team, though, because his trade value will be about nil unless it's a conditional pick.

And by the way, you should capitalize "MARE" -- it goes with the great pic of Wayne.

I would welcome him back but I would make him play for his starting job and not just hand it to him. Even if Wanny is fired the line needs to get better for anyone to be able to run for us.
